“Hey, Babe! Can you come here!”
You sighed setting down the dish you finished scrubbing on the drying rack. You were sure whatever Trevor was calling you for was complete nonsense but you still smiled as you called back, “Coming!”
You walked out of the kitchen and towards the bedroom where you could already here crinkling of paper and your boyfriend’s giggle.
You burst out laughing as soon as you saw him. He was covered head to toe in wrapping paper, complete with the bow on top of his head.
“How did you even manage to do this?” You asked, crouching down beside him.
Luckily, he was smart enough not to wrap his face, “A little skill and a lot of rolling around in tape.”
“You’re such a dork,” you kneeled down beside him before leaning down to kiss him. You laughed against his lips as you heard the wrapping paper rip so he could free his arms and wrap them around you. He pulled you down so you were chest to chest. You spent a good few minutes on the floor making out. Both of you giggling any time the paper crinkled.
You had most of the paper off by the time the two of you were done. You were about to start working on his shirt when the timer for the oven went off.
“Leave it,” Trevor mumbled, his and sliding up your shirt.
You groaned, “As much as I would love that, I really don’t want the firefighters who would come try to save the kitchen walking in on me naked.”
“I don’t mind as long as I’m naked too,” Trevor have you a cheeky grin and you slapped him playfully.
“Ow,” he laughed rubbing his shoulder as you got off of him.
You rushed to the kitchen to pull the dinner out of the oven.
As soon as it was safe and cooling, Trevor rushed in and scooped you up so he could set you on the counter and he could kiss you. You laughed and returned the kiss, “Okay but only until dinner is cooled off. I worked hard on it.”
“Deal,” Trevor mumbled against your lips.
You pulled back for a minute and held Trevor’s face in your hands.
“What?” he chuckled as you admired him.
“Just,” you let out a happy sigh, “I’m so lucky.”
Trevor’s smile grew, “I’m the lucky one. You’re the one that said yes when I asked you out.”
“I was lucky you asked me out,” you grinned, trying to one up him.
“I was lucky when you said yes again,” Trevor gave you a sly look.
“Yes again? Yes to what?” you gave him a confused look.
Trevor let go of you for a second to rifle through his pocket, “I was going to wait until Christmas but right now seems like the perfect time.” You watched curiously as Trevor finally pulled something out of his pocket. He opened the box and you gasped upon seeing the ring.”
“Will you marry me?”
“Of course!” you shouted, tackling him in a hug, nearly falling off the counter in the process.
"I won't let anything happen to you" with the lovely trevor c?
“I just wanted to say that this has been one of the nicest and certainly the best first date I’ve ever been on,” you told Trevor as he walked you to your front door.
He smiled at the sentiment and it made your heart flutter, “Only the best for the best. I was so nervous about you liking everything and liking me.”
You giggled softly, “I like you very much. Have for a long time.”
“This was a long time coming,” Trevor nodded thoughtfully. “I’m just glad I finally got the nerves up to ask you out.”
“Me too. I didn’t know if I’d be ready to date again so soon after everything but you swooped in like Price Charming and made tonight amazing.”
Trevor’s smile softened as he stepped closer, holding you in his arms as you stopped at your front door, “I won’t let anything happen to you, ever again.”
“I know,” you had known Trevor long enough to trust him completely.
His smile brightened again and he leaned in to kiss you but he hesitated, looking down at you to make sure it was okay. You nodded him softly before meeting him halfway.
It was a tender kiss, gentle, your first kiss and the first of many.

“Well, if that’s everything, Mr. Diaz, I’m going to go finish up some paperwork,” you told the latest patient to come under your watch.
“Wellll,” Alfredo began and you hadn’t even budged. Alfredo wasn’t shy and it took you about thirty minutes every time you came and checked on him. You didn’t mind seeing as he was sweet and it didn’t bother you much anymore since you knew to check on all your other patients first then do your paperwork then check on Alfredo.
You laughed softly, it was the end of your shift so you pulled the curtain around his bed before going to sit down. You winced as you sat down in the chair next to his bed.
Alfredo got a concerned look on his face as he asked, “Is everything okay?”
You rubbed the spot tenderly as you told him, “I don’t think my soulmate is the best of guys. Tends to get shot a lot. Or stabbed.”
You offered him a look at the scar near your collarbone. A look swept across his face you couldn’t read. After a moment he asked, “Is that why you became a nurse? To find your soulmate?”
You shook your head, “I wanted to help people since I was a kid. I may have moved to the shadier side of town hoping to cross paths with him after I’ve gotten stab wounds and gunshots and even burn marks from what I was guessing is rope after being tied up. I mean I know I shouldn’t want a dangerous soulmate but still, it’s my soulmate. Besides it is Los Santos who here isn’t a criminal.”
You eye him but he just laughs. He knows you won’t turn him in especially with so many criminals in your hospital already.
“You,” he offered. “You’re still pure.”
You laugh and ask, “Are you so sure about that?”
“I’ve been around enough criminals to know one when I see one,” Alfredo gave you a knowing look.
You talked a little longer but he cut the conversation short saying he had to make a phone call. You thought it was a little strange but didn’t question it as you left.
The next day you were making your rounds and looking at your chart when you ran smack into someone. You looked up you saw an unfamiliar face but you were drawn to him the instant he smiled.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to run into you. I was actually looking for my friend. His name is… I’m sorry but have we met before. I’m Trevor.”
You shook your head slowly, “I don’t think so.”
“You seem so familiar,” he stared at you intensely as if it would help him figure out how he knew you.
“Same,” you muttered before you heard someone call your name. “Sorry. I have to go. Who were you looking for you, maybe I can point you in the right direction.”
He stared at you for a moment longer and you cocked an eyebrow as you waited. He shook his head softly but the smile remained, “Sorry. Alfredo Diaz.”
You smiled, “Oh, totally see the resemblance now! Just down the hall on the left.”
“We’re not-” Trevor was cut off as your coworker yelled again.
“Sorry. Got to go. Hopefully, I’ll see you around,” you jogged in the direction of where your name was being shouted from, feeling in a slight haze as you had a smile on your face.
You finished your work as quickly as possible in hopes of seeing Trevor before he left. You weren’t even done with your paperwork when you were heading down to Alfredo’s room.
You smiled as you could see the two boys happily chatting in the window. You put a hand on the door but at the same time a strong arm wrapped itself around your waist and the other covered your mouth with a chloroform rag before you could scream. You tried to kick but your legs felt heavy as the drugs took effect.
When you woke up your body felt weighed down and it took a couple of tries to lift your head and open your eyes. Your stomach churned as you saw the darkly lit room. Your head was hazy as you tried to piece together how you got here. You tasted fabric in your mouth, making you gag. You tried standing but you were quick to realize you were bound to your chair. Your heart started to race as the last few moments at the hospital started to come back. You also noticed a dull ache all over your body and a sharp one in your leg. You looked down and saw blood.
You didn’t have a chance to react though as a gruff voice caught your attention, “Good morning, sunshine.”
You yanked on your binds but you didn’t budge.
“No use, sweetheart. Tied them myself. Sorry, we had to meet like this. I’m sure you’re a real nice girl but you are going to prove to be quite useful,” he stepped closer as he spoke. You recognized him he was from one of the gangs the cops were always after. You couldn’t quite place him but it didn’t matter because he still made your skin crawl and your blood run cold. “I got nothing against you so I’ll let you know I don’t plan on killing you. You’ll be in for a rough one but I’ll give you one gift, the choice to know why this is happening. Do you want to know why this is happening or shall we just get to the torturing?”
Your chest grew tight at the word torture but of course, you wanted to know why you, why this was happing. Who wouldn’t want to know?
You nodded and he laughed, “We got a tip, from your mouthy friend in fact. Alfredo. An informant of mine was in the bed next to him. Alfredo thinks he knows who your soulmate is. If he’s right you’re in for a world of hurt.”
Your eyes moved to the knife that he was spinning in his hands. He smirked as he saw you looking.
His next move was quick and precise. The knife plunged deep into your leg and you let out a howl.
“Sorry,” he didn’t seem sorry. “Hopefully your friend is wrong but now we wait.” With that, he walked out of the room.
You weren’t sure how long you were there alone but it was long enough for the blood on your pants to dry.
When the guy came back in he had a wicked grin and a cart draped with a cloth with him. You felt sick before he even spoke, “What an unlucky girl you are. Soulmates with the Fakes boss. Lucky us we got you before he did.”
As he parked the cart beside you and lifted the cloth, showing off a hefty amount of power tools and non-powered tools, knives, some devices that looked crafted, you felt your heart sink and closed your eyes as you felt the tears start to well up.
The next few hours were more painful than you could ever imagine. The next few days were even worse.
You couldn’t stop smelling blood. You couldn’t stop tasting blood.
You went in and out of consciousness due to the pain. It was a vicious cycle. You would pass out from the pain when it became overwhelming then wake up as a new pain ripped through your body. A few people stopped in to wipe up the blood you spilled, feed you just enough to live but none of them said a word, none of them actually helped you.
You happened to be lucid for a moment as your torturer started talking to you for the first time in days, “Your mate is being a pain. He’s weak but he’s getting the crew to pick off members of each of the gangs until you come back safe. Luckily, I have a plan. A trap.”
You felt him cut the ties around your binds. You tried lifting your arms but you were too weak. You groaned as he roughly grabbed your arm. You screamed as he started carving something into it. It was an address and a simple word, ‘help’.
You started crying and found the strength in you to rip your arm away and shove your captor. He fell in shock, “You bitch!”
You went for the knife though it was tough as your legs were still tied down. You managed to get it and you only had one chance so you started to carve into your own flesh. The guy ripped away the knife and kicked you until you passed out again.
When you woke up again you heard gunshots, you flinched.
“Shh. It’s okay. You’re going to be okay. You’re safe now,” the gentle tone alone made you want to cry but when you looked up and saw Trevor’s face you did. “Shh. Shh. Baby girl. No one is ever going to touch you again.”
“Trevor,” you croaked. It was then you realized he was carrying you away. You heard yelling and more shots but it was growing farther away.
You blinked as he exited the building and sun hit your face in the first time in probably weeks. You made a face and he gave you a sad smile. He managed to get you to a car and slip you into the passenger's seat. He buckled you before closing your door carefully and running over to the driver’s side.
“How?” you asked with every ounce of energy you could muster.
Trevor held out his hand and your heart nearly stopped as you recognized the word scrawled on the palm of his hand, it matched your own, ‘trap’. You looked at him with tears and he gave you another sad smile before leaning over and kissing your forehead.
“I promise you are safe and I’m never letting anyone touch you again,” he said sincerely.
You knew he was a criminal. Him being a criminal and a leader of a gang is what had got you in this situation in the first place but just one look and you knew he was telling you the truth. You actually felt safe for the first time since you had run into him in the hospital. You nodded and leaned back in your seat, eyes on Trevor. He gave the smallest smile and started the car.
