“Trevor!” you shouted furiously at your coworker as you stood from your desk.
You heard a soft ‘uh oh’ from another room followed by James and Alecks snickering. You marched into the other room and watched as Trevor went wide eyed and tried to scramble for safety.
“What have I told you about touching my files?!” you yelled, crossing your arms. “Brett is pissed because the last video I was editing is now deleted. Gone forever. I know my folders aren’t organized but they are my folders and I know where what I need is.”
“Actually,” Trevor poked his head out from behind James, “Not deleted. I just moved it to-”
You were fuming that he touched your stuff again and you shook your head and stomped off to go find where all the videos that you were working on had gone to.
As soon as you were out of earshot Trevor slunk back in front of the other two and Alecks as him, “So when are you going to stop being weird and trying to help her and instead just ask her out?”
Trevor just shook his head telling him to drop it.
“Does Trevor know about this footage?” you asked turning to Asher after you hit stop on the video filmed over a month ago. There had been quite a few more instances since then.
He shook his head, “Not yet. I don’t even think he realizes this was filmed judged by the fumbling that happens with the camera for the next minute.”
“Would you mind if I held onto this for a bit?” you questioned.
“Sure,” he shrugged, “I’m just hoping this will just help with all the fighting.”
Asher sat down and your cheeks burned. You had hated Trevor’s guts just minutes ago because you thought he was a pest or possibly even trying to sabotage your work but this whole time he was just trying to help. He was being sweet on you and you instantly felt guilty for being so cruel.
All day you had been thinking about how to either bring up the video or at least all the fighting to Trevor but there never seemed to be a right time.
When you made it home you saw your next door neighbor sitting outside of his apartment.
You looked over at him as you pulled out your keys, “Locked out?”
Trevor looked up, startled. His face ran with confusion as you could tell he had no idea why you were talking to him but he nodded, “Forgot my keys, roommate is at work, and to top it off left my jacket at the office.”
“That sucks,” you told him opening your door and you watched as his face fell.
You had no intent on leaving him outside but you also didn’t want him to know you knew his secret yet.
“You know, no one should be stuck out in the cold at least not without some hot chocolate. Why don’t you come inside and I’ll make you a cup while you wait?” you offered, stepping aside so he could see you were being sincere.
“What the catch?” Trevor asked cautiously as he stood.
“The catch is you get delicious hot chocolate then you leave,” you told him.”
He shrugged taking your peace offering and headed into your apartment though when the hot beverage was done you didn’t kick him out and he didn’t budge from your couch.
