God I’m not gonna do this justice and it is not prime Angst time so time to be a little wholesome. Ignore the fact I’m using classic Paz icons this is for her some years after the show still.
Pacifica normally despised going out to public functions like this with her parents, especially Pioneer Day. A day where her and her family basically broadcast to the entire town that they were the descendants of the town’s founder.
Founder was putting it loosely, ever since Dipper showed her those papers of the cover up and the whole Ghost debacle at the manor she grew more and more upset at how fake her family was. And she was part of this stupid chain. And every year she was still expected to show up in town, dressed up in designer clothing specifically tailored to mirror the clothing of that era and pretend they were still the best things that town had ever laid their eyes on.
The town didn’t know better, the moment she questioned her parents they didn’t hesitate to yank those papers away and hide them along with all the other incriminating evidence of just how awful the Northwests are. So every year they still held the family up on that pedestal and stroked their egos because what else were they going to do? They were still richer than everyone else there even if they were still mildly less so after Weirdmageddon.
Still there was still one good thing about the holiday. While her parents were too busy showing off like the fake plastic showponies they were, they didn’t really notice when she wandered off somewhere away from their prying eyes. Every year without fail she made her way to the Dipper and Mabel, the two people that actually cared about her and opened her eyes to the smoke and mirrors her family tried so hard to convince was the truth.
And here she was doing it again, this time finding them near some stands with food that she personally wouldn’t ever dream of putting in her mouth and gave them a smile as she sat down with them.
“So like, got room for one more?”
