Gardens of the Palace of Versailles. The scale of the gardens is impressive. The fountains are beautiful. Marie Antoinette's domain was my favourite part of the garden. We visited in October, arriving early at 7.45 am. Tickets were purchased online meaning we could go straight to the main entrance. The gardens opened at 8am. After a walk around the terraces and the orangery, we joined the queue for the palace. We only had to queue for about 15 minutes. The tickets cost 25€ for adults which included the palace, gardens, trianons, Marie Antoinette 's domain and the stables. My son had free entry as he was under 26 and resident in the EU. He just had to show hid ID card to prove his age. There was a musical fountain display which cost him an extra 9€. Parking cost 30€ for the day.
