Honor and Duty
Ever since Hikari had taken the throne, he'd not had as many chances to venture beyond the capital as he once did, though that was to be expected. He didn't hate it, exactly, but the king took as many opportunities as he could to venture out when the chance presented itself. Today marked just such an occasion, as a caravan containing missionaries from the Order of the Sacred Flame was on its way to Ku.
Now, Hikari didn't HAVE to go and greet them personally. He could have simply sent some troops, or even allowed the Sacred Guard to escort the clerics the whole way. However, since there weren't many pressing matters to attend to at the moment, Hikari took it upon himself to meet the envoys halfway, accompanied by a contingent of soldiers, of course.
The king and his troops rode through the desert on horseback. As they neared the meeting place, however, a familiar sound reached Hikari's ears: the sound of conflict. Shouting, blades clashing, all things he was uncomfortably familiar with. Without hesitation, Hikari flicked the reins of his mount and ordered his troops to make haste. It sounded as though someone would be in need of assistance...
