It seemed that the purpose of the beacons had, at last, been revealed. With the monsters go, their little wreck of an island city had suddenly burst into a full-fledged metropolis. No surprise that it had distinct sections to it, all things considered; what else could they have expected?
At any rate, Cloud had abandoned his home ward of Archimedes and gone exploring. Incidentally, this had led him to the Golden Ward, which was... not what he had expected. It was rather as if somebody had blown Junon up to the size of Midgar, then slapped a gigantic version of the Golden Saucer in the middle of it. (As if the Golden Saucer wasn’t large enough already.)
It was easy enough to get lost in the gigantic sprawl of shopping malls and storefronts, let alone trying to actually locate a specific area. On the upside, getting lost was more or less exactly what he had in mind; he found it was usually the best way to get to know a place.
Granted, Cloud more or less stuck out like a sore thumb, even without the swords. At least he wasn’t scowling, so that was a step up, he supposed. hard to be upset, in a place like this.
