the presumably progressive metalcore band AU that lives inside our head.

we didn't get long haired resurrected Knives in Stargaze, at least he's here (main composer, also has his own progressive rock project) - and Legato (of course vocals and lyrics)

Legato would probably be cancelled by the male fans of the band if they find out he kills people. child traffickers and the men who pay for children, but, y'know, go to therapy shite.

and yes, he has a blade feather tattoo on his neck. only Knives knows why.

how to start the day laughing our ass off: seeing a post calling Knives a sociopath and a narcissist who doesn't love anyone except himself.

tl;dr: if Knives were indeed a sociopath and narcissist, he would have a lot more followers and would be a lot more emotional towards EoM too. he doesn't need to fake connect to others, he isn't dependent on mass praise.

still a model asshole, of course.

this is where the fun begins...

funny because i was called exactly that by a certain "enlightened" person and got diagnosed with ..surprise, ASD next year. oopsie.

gonna talk about different iterations of the same character. they have a lot in common, however.

first, trimax little Knives and a butterfly. and his reaction to Tesla's fate. both mental health issues aforementioned require parenting that is very different from Rem's. Rem was not a perfect mother, however, show us one; even the biblical Mary was a human woman, and yes, we can compare these women.

tristamp kid Knives? special interests at full speed (we also think Bible is not just fiction btw). and somehow it's our subjective "autistic radar", when someone is present in the world in a certain way. the way he looked at everything and everyone, slightly unfocused, very familiar.

autistic kids can have empathy issues, fictional undiagnosed ones, too. whatever neural conditions the plant twins got, you cannot deny Knives loved his foster mother. at least you cannot deny it for long enough. if you aren't a 98 only fan, though.

trimax adult Knives? a "real men don't go to therapy" asshole, a very determined one, appears egoistic af, but... not a sociopath. a sociopath would rather rule the humans, hiding behind a well crafted mask.

tristamp adult Knives? the closest to narcissistic at the first glance, of course, all buff (honestly, too much of masculine physical appearance makes us very uncomfortable in an unpleasant way), and theatrically epic. but, again, there's a glass wall of alienation, expressed not just through his snuggie. and it's not gone after that massacre he performed as a teen. rather gives a "fuck your masking, fuck your lies, fuck everything" energy. not the best way to manipulate tbh.

for now: we have a lot of reasons to kick and punch and yell at Knives, but the last thing we'd accuse him of is "loving himself only". we doubt very much he loves himself more than he loved Rem.

P. S. still haven't watched a single Stargaze episode, but the most recent spoiler left us wondering: can't anyone see it's a dead tree look? true body horror, but for plants.
