Trigedasleng Musings
You know, based on the language, trees seem to be super important in their culture. They relate a lot of things to how they interact with trees.
trilipa - deer (tree leaper)
tristraka - lightening (tree striker)
trikova - shadows (tree cover)
Trees have to be pretty important for you to name so many things in relation to them.
On the other hand, it could just be something they've noticed and named accordingly. They've noticed this particular thing interacts with trees a lot.
But it seems kind of doubtful, since there's a lot of things more noticeable about some things than "happens to interact with trees a lot".
Lightening could have been derived from light, pain, electricity, burns it leaves behind, it's attraction to metal, the terror of getting hit.
Our own word for it is related to light, after all.
