MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC - ALL BOTTLED UP *OPINION*

...Aaaaaand here’s the second entry for today’s episodes:

Ok, when I read the synopsis of the episode, I was not expecting the map to disappear because of Trixie. But I am certainly not complaining. I mean, having Trixie present in 4 episodes in a row? Yes please!  (Well, only ‘tecnically’ 4 in a row, considering the first two were in the previous season).

I must admit, seeing Starlight teaching Trixie how to properly use magic kinda seems like a recycled theme we’re having in these last few seasons. Twilight teaching Starlight how to be a better friend, Starlight teaching Trixie how to be a better magician....Not that I don’t see that happening, it’s just that there are too many similarities between Season 6 and Season 7 in this circumstance. I wonder at this point if Trixie will now become the new Starlight for this season and she will be a more present figure. Oh well, only time will tell. 

One thing I found annoying towards the episode was how Trixie constantly acted like she didn’t care for all the troubles she was causing Starlight. I know the whole point of the episode was to have her acting that way in order to have Starlight getting angrier and angrier at her, but even I would have exploded in a murderous fit of rage after the second time Trixie just shrugged away the troubles she created.

I must say, though, having a spell to bottle up your emotions (or, your anger in this case) surely sounds like a pretty useful one. 

The part of the episode that caught me a little offguard was when the Mane6 started to sing after solving the puzzles in the escape room. I mean, I know Starlight wispered to Trixie they were going to do exactly that during their Friendship Retreat, but I was not expecting to actually see that! And of course, they missed the chance to set a new record because they stopped for the song. Oh well, at least now they might have learned there’s a time for action and a time to burst into song.

Finally, do I really need to point out all the TrixieXStarlight moments towards the end of the episode? 

I think that ship is now unsinkable! AND I’LL GO DOWN WITH IT!

Final Verdict: 7/10. A good second episode, with a lot of potential for Trixie’s development in magic and a good opportunity to show Starlight has still a lot to learn when it comes to friendship.

Next Episode: A good occasion to see Twilight being the BAE (Best Aunt Ever) when she’ll spend some quality time with Flurry Heart....Ooooh boy, let’s hope this will be better than ‘The Crystalling’....
