not to be dramatic, but zhou ye in and out of character is literally the most important person in the world and i'd give it all up for her 💖💖💖

i'm definitely not thinking about how adachi thought so low of himself and never tried to make more friends and thought he could be of no help to anyone, feeling isolated and unlucky. how he's such a kind and compassionate person just waiting to break out of his shell and act on his kindness, too weighed down by his skewed perception of himself.

i'm absolutely not thinking about how his new ability has made him braver and opened doors he thought were locked, allowing him to help people the way he always wished he could and making more friends in the process. how he's finally starting to see his worth and open up more and building a nice little found family he never thought he'd have, finally starting to be truly happy, both in life and with himself. how he never needed his powers to be such a good person, but got brave enough to do it with their help.

i am absolutely, definitely not thinking about all of this, except i am and i couldn't be more proud of adachi and happy to see such development and complexity in a character. i am absolutely, definitely not getting emotional, except i am because this show may be hilarious and have an outrageous premise, but the characters and messages have real depth and, man, does it hit me hard and nestle itself into my heart.
