EVEN AS © 2023 G. Smith (BMI) ==================  Even as the dawn is breaking, Even as the moon goes down, You're sleeping soundly, hours from waking. Even as the dawn is breaking, I pack my bags, and then I'm making My way out the door, and out of town. Even as the dawn is breaking, Even as the moon goes down. Even as the birds start singing, Even as the sky turns blue, I face the changes this day's bringing. Even as the birds start singing, You call. I let my phone keep ringing, There's nothing left to say to you. Even as the birds start singing, Even as the sky turns blue. Even as the sun is sinking, Even as the stars appear; I've quit you like I've quit my drinking. Even as the sun is sinking, The only thing that I am thinking, Is it's always been you there, me here, Even as the sun is sinking, Even as the stars appear.

The prompt was to write an EVEN poem... in this case, a trio of triolets...
