Trip Update: We went undercover as dog meat buyers from New York, claiming to import meat to supply restaurants here in America. While it took a long time to sway them to our side, my translator did an amazing job at keeping to the story, and working the cover. They claim Westerns come here all the time, trying to disrupt business and ridicule their culture. Once we gained their trust, we were taken 20 minutes outside the city to two massive farms - each holding thousands of dogs. The owners of the farm said they ship them all over the country, traveling on truck sometimes for up to 40 hours. I asked, "How do they survive that long of a journey?" He said, "Some of them die before they get there," or shortly after. Many of these dogs, they are being readied for travel next month to Yulin. Where slaughter owners and restaurants have already put in their purchase. I mentioned I saw on the news that the festival was over, he claimed he has not heard of such a thing. Assuring me the festival is still happening. Tomorrow we visit their slaughterhouse, where they kill over 200 dogs a day to supply restaurants in the city. I will try to do my first undercover Facebook Live, so people can be there to see what we see. Most of the dogs, they cower in fear and are terrified. But some wag their tails until the end. Believing man is still a friend, and that salvation will come. It does not. #www.animalhopeandwellness.org #Trip13 #TheCompassionProject #MarcChing #Yulin2017 #vegan #people #picoftheday #photography #veganism #love #selfie
