I discovered Man Without Country during an M83 concert, which they opened for (such a perfect night, by the way). It was love, I knew it was love right away, and I liked that - it's hard to be a good first impression to my ears. This is a track off their album Foe, 'Puppets'. This single track does not bring justice to the entire album, although it's one good representation. I recommend getting hold of the album and enjoy it on long public transport journeys or a nice alone-time after a long day's work. Man Without Country sounds like the fusion of God Is An Astronaut's occasionally eerie ambient sounds, with M83's music composition, and a pinch of Delphic's dance-y beats. Fenech-Soler's long awaited new single since their self-titled debut LP in 2010. Heavens, so many new releases this year, especially within these few months! 2013 is going to be eargasmic. Fenech-Soler will be great to the ears of the fans of Miike Snow and Delphic.
Alt-J (aka ∆)'s 'An Awesome Wave' is definitely album of 2012 for me. The last time I got so intrigued by the sound of a new artist was probably Woodkid. Here's my favourite track, featuring the quirks of British filmmaking (in my head). Alt-J ∆ will be well-loved by fans of Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club and the likes.
This is Foals' new single from their brand new album Holy Fire, featuring some really new grooves - something different from what we're used to, albiet keeping part of the signature Foals-guitar riffs intact. There's a debate amongst my friends about whether they love it or hate it or just myeh. I love it. I enjoy listening to new sounds from old loves.
