I shall give you fluff first!
“What the fuck?” Legend scoffed, staring down at the piece of clothing infront of him that was rudely shoved into his lap. “How did you fuckin manage this?”
“Language.” The old man grunted from across the room, causing Legend to roll his eyes.
Blowing a strand of hair from his eyes -rather ineffective considering his hairstyle but whatever- he looks back up to the now very guilty looking sailor. The kid wasnt one who stood down or shied away but…in that moment, Legend really saw him for how young he was- just a kid who made a mistake. A big one, but a mistake nonetheless.
Digging his heel into the worn boards of the ship, Wind grimaced at the floor as if it was to blame.
“Dunno…” He mumbles, causing Legend to raise an unamused look to the boy who only squirms under the gaze.
Looking back down, Legend cant help but cringe at the rather large gash ripped into the knight’s sail cloth. He wasn’t sure where the older hero was but…he was happy it wasn’t here. Running a hand through his hair, Legend sighs knowing how protective the man was over the item which is likely why the little sh– sailor came to him in a panic with said item.
“Hes gonna kill ya,” Legend huffs, tossing the fabric onto the table.
“I knowww!” The teen whines in defeat, slumping against the older teen’s back, causing him to tense- something Wind either ignored or didnt notice. “But you can fix it right? I saw you fix the sail!”
Resisting the urge to shove the kid off, Legend huffed as he stared at the ripped fabric. “A sail is different, no one is finna care if it lookin ugly…but this? This is like his most important possession- well other than the sword…maybe.”
A grunt escapes the man as the teen shakes his shoulders with another whine of defeat. He was half tempted to just push the kid off the bench but as his eyes but a sudden chill runs down his back. Slowly, looking up, the older teen meets the eyes (well eye) of a certain ex- general with a glare that screams ‘dont even think about it.’ Huffing, Legend pouts as he snaps his gaze back down, he swears that the old man plays favourites.
Looking over to the pouting, guilty looking teen, Legend can see the great regret behind his large eyes. The kid didnt show that often, but he can see it now…Ah shit- those look like tears.
“Fine fine.” Legend snatched the cloth back, sending a glare over to Wind. “But you better go distract his ass, cause if I get caught doing this i'm blaming it on you.”
Legend totally wasnt fighting off a smile as Wind eyes lit up, or when he felt Wind tightly hug him before jumping up from the shared bend with a wide smile and a new determination.
And just like that, he was gone.
Sighing, Legend stares down at the fabric with a grimace, wondering how he was gonna find a way to fix this seamlessly…Before a chuckle pulls him from his thoughts. Looking up, his grimace deepens as he sees Time shaking his head as he polished a dagger, meeting his gaze with a knowing look.
…Maybe he wasnt the only one playing favourites…
