i think the cruelest thing in the world is that emergency migraine meds are blister packaged. like you’re telling me that they expect a person with a migraine to spend several seconds trying to convince their motor skills to open a tiny little package??
Love how doctors hugely type up triptans like “They will stop your migraine” and then they add on “By stop I mean get rid of 95% of it. And the half life’s only 2hrs so if you don’t redose it’ll come back pretty quickly. And you’re only allowed to redose once so you get max 4hrs of relief. Also the side effects will make you feel tired and all your muscles will ache. Also you can only take it two days a week or it’ll make your migraines worse long-term. But other than those minor inconveniences it’s truly a miracle drug”
Triptans are the most common medication to stop a migraine, but they are not all created equally. Explore your different options to get maxi
Forgot how WEIRD sumatriptan makes me feel. Does that pass ever? Like will I ever stop feeling the side effects?
I haven't taken it in so long cause I remember not liking the side effects at all but tried it again tonight and boyyyyyyyy do I feel odd.
new high
got prescribed sumatriptan for tension headaches and the high for that is annoying but drugs are drugs I ain't complaining smoking up makes it enjoyable
The only reason I'm on triptans is that my go-to before covid, for migraine pain, was Excedrin, but covid like, made me allergic to NSAIDs??
It turns out, the reason they only dispense like nine triptans at a time--no-fuckin-body told me this until my sister got her own prescription for triptans--is because.
You fucking
Aren't supposed to fucking
Use more than nine
Per fucking month.
Now, I've been too busy and distracted to look up exactly why. But with the fucking barometer prescribing me migraines on a whim, sometimes, I fucking have more than nine migraine days a month. For example, I woke up today, Sunday, with ANOTHER fucking weather migraine--I get so many goddamn migraines, I've fucking stopped tracking them. I quit.
Also, I think my womb donor may have pOsSiBlY been misdiagnosed with sinus issues which may have been migraines. Although, my womb donor is, as far as I know, now an urn, soooooo 🤷♀️ I know I've had one major sinus infection in my life, and only a few minor incidents where I had some sinus/nasal issues which resolved without antibiotics, but I've had no less than a migraine every month or less since about sixteen. Anyway. None of that is either here or there.
The point is, the barometric pressure is still low as we had into yet another goddamn fucking windy day and the fucking screaming of the wind around the house alone is enough to make someone scream and start throwing things, but I've also got another fucking migraine rolling in.
I hate Wisconsin and Wisconsin hates me.
