The main thing I've learned from Broadchurch Season 3 is that if your man ain't shit you don't keep on giving him chances out of some misguided desire for things to work out. It's the prime of your life he's wasting! Kick him the fuck out!

Broadchurch 3x06 (aka: I’m broken) reaction’d *spoilers* [aired 4/3/17]

Non spoilers: 10/10 Millahrs! from the very first opening scene. You know the one. To the very last scene. Because WOT! I’d give it 11/10, but that seems juvenile, and I’m broken by this episode, so it almost doesn’t seem right.

Also, everyone gets a BAFTA.

I’m getting a bit anxious because there’s not long now before it’s all over, then where will I be for smart non-episodic long game crime drama? [spoilers ahead]

I do not need a ‘previously on broadchurch’ at this point, I remember the searing details.

THAT DREAM. I did not expect it, I did not see it coming. Mark mentioned dreaming about Danny, I never expected having to see it. That was an emotional sucker punch!

Hardy: “Who are lining up as our key suspects?” / Me: Arthur!!! / Hardy: “How’s that automatically follow?” / Me, at the screen: “Ah I guess you weren’t talking to me.”

Miller: “Leo Humphries” / Hardy: “Your mate, twine boy.” / Me: “I prefer swaggery young shit”

Miller, with glee: “Oh!…Uniforms have been called to a disturbance at Jim Atwood’s garage. He’s been beaten up. Is this of any interest to us?” / Hardy, with somehow impossibly more glee: “Yes it is! Get your coat!” / Me: It’s like Christmas and Easter.

That preview where Hardy is yelling at someone: I bet it’s DC Incompetent Notetaker Hartford for compromising the investigation.

Oh NO, DC Hartford, no one refuses Ellie Miller. I was just starting to like you.

Miller: “You are in so much shit when I get back.” I really see the generational gap now, it sounds like Miller is scolding her kid.

[30 seconds later.] Oh my god, it’s happening before my very eyes, that blow up scene is so much better than I ever expected in my life!

Hartford: “I understand” / Hardy, in epic Scottish dad voice: “OH REALLY…” Me: at this point if this were a song, the music would cut out abruptly and then the beat would drop. THIS JUST GOT REAL!

Literally, from the moment that Katie and Ed exchanged glances I knew the s*** would hit the fan, and it all combusts in rich technicolor in under 4 minutes. Chibnall, you get a fist bump!

I TAKE IT BACK, I take it all back! When Mark and Joe lock eyes, that’s the beat drop. It’s going down for real!

Oh my stars, Miller just gave the most perfect speech on the evolution of women in the workplace and the historical significance of the feminist movement about working hard to become a woman DS in a predominately male field. Olivia Colman needs an award for her role, and that speech, yesterday!

Based on his face, I think that Hardy is the proudest he has ever been of Miller at the point she reads Katie the riot act. And you know what, so am I!!!!!!!

The selfish bit cut like a knife!

I almost can’t believe Joe finally put it all to words in front of Mark. That small bit of solace he gives to his old friend by telling him “you were too late, it wouldn’t have made any difference.” Julius Cesar, I’m dead.

The actors who plays Mark Latimer (Andrew Buchan) and Joe Miller (Matthew Gravelle) also deserve all the awards. My god. After all this time how much Mark and Joe still share. “The only reason I’m still here is because I don’t have the courage to kill myself…I can’t do prison Mark” / “I can’t live with what you’ve done to us and I’m not strong enough to make you pay, it’s pathetic.”

broadchurch speculations

I’m sticking with my beliefs of katie still trying to work on the case to prove a point to ellie/hardy and being hurt in the process 

ed burnett found trish

i don’t think he knew she was being attacked but probably found her some time after

he unbound her wrists and removed the gag from her mouth but didn’t know what to do or was scared he would be blamed for what happened and left

i think that the attack was a group effort 

tom’s friend who was punished with him probably has some built up anger about his stepfather and attacked trish 

maybe clive joined in?? and trish saw what was happening but knew that trish had slept with her husband and took her revenge by recording the attack 

cath probably sent the video to ian who wants it deleted from the computer 

there’s so many loose ends to be tied with only two episodes left and i’m trying not to cry over the fact that i’ll never see hardy and miller together again
