Life Imitating Art (23 Weeks Down, 29 More To Go)...
Right before I was leaving to move to Montreal, I was having all of my going away dinners and celebrations with friends, when my dear and very much missed friend Andrea, played a song one night before we went out for a friend's birthday, and it was called Titanium. Yes the one by Sia and David Guetta. It was just an amazing song and it spoke so clearly to me, because I knew that going forward I was going to need strength, moving to a new country and all. I've always been lauded as this superhuman, ninja when it comes to being emotionally strong, but this was going to be a test like no other. And now after being on this topsy-turvy roller coaster ride for the last 5 months, here comes another song that just seems as though it was written for me and my situation, Triumphant by the one and only MC. It's no secret that I'm a HUGE Mariah Carey fan, and I've been so excited for her to release new music, and with this song it's just tooooo good. Being a lover of music for all of my years on earth, a musician and someone with great singing ability (No I don't call myself a singer), it's always shocking to me, still, how many times we can be going through a dramatic moment and then we hear that one song, that song the makes everything else seem so obsolete. These past few months I've faced so many challenges with introducing our brand into a foreign market, and I have bent, but not once come close to breaking. My own strength paired with the amazing people I’ve encountered here has kept me rolling along. I have to make some tough choices now and am being faced with this constant dual/duel (it’s appropriate) dichotomy of my emotions and feelings. But regardless of what I choose or what happens, I’m going to be triumphant and keep on living.
