The Trix had at least managed to evade the monks when the fairies had distracted them. But things were not well within the group. Especially not Icy. She’d done what was best for her sisters, leaving Valtor beneath the lake only to find out he hadn’t even been gone that time. Now though, now he was gone for good.
Now evening was approaching and Icy stood ankle deep in the lake, reaching down to grab the familiar coat that had floated to the surface. She’d done what was best. But in the end, this one was on Icy’s shoulders. It was HER who’d betrayed him. Her and her sisters. Left him to die and still he’d nearly succeeded. If they’d been there- This was a new feeling in her chest. PAIN.
A choked sound left her lips as her fingers curled around the jacket, pressing it close to her as she backed out of the lake and sank to the ground. It hurt. IT HURT and yet she tried to swallow the pain. Ice shards erupted from the ground, taking out anything unfortunate enough to be in its way as the area around her turned into a frozen wasteland, her pain manifesting itself in the form of her magic.
That’s when she heard the crunch of shoes on snow and they certainly weren’t her own. No, no not now. Not while she was like this. Emotional and unstable. Her eyelashes parted only to find herself staring up at Darcy. And oh how that made it so much worse for Icy, being exposed like this.
