hey there. im really amazed at your work! superfan from PH. 😍 im just starting my baby steps towards Graphic Arts. what tablet do u recommend for starters? and books for anatomy and detailing??im used to manga-like quality eh. thank you so much!!

Hey, kabayan! :D Welcome to the world of plates and deadlines! Hope you’re enjoying the adventure so far.

As for a grahic tablet: my very first one was a Genius...something something, really cheap graphic tablet that barely lasted a year. I decided to invest on a more expensive YET reliable Wacom Intuos 4 after that. I have it for 4 years now and it’s still alive and working fabulously. You can go with an Intuos BUT Bamboo is really awesome too, cheaper but works just as fine as the Intuos.

Books on anatomy and detailing: I honestly never bought any books on those cause I’m a cheap. LOL But no, I seriously think you don’t need it. What I did to learn what I know (and I honestly dunno a lot tbh, idk why you are asking me this *hyperventilates*) is look at models on magazines or images online or anywhere and redraw them. If you are going for anatomy, the more naked your models are, the better. Heck, look at porn stars and models if you have to, tell your parents you’re doing serious research! Just make sure your mind is not wandering elsewhere and you’re paying attention to their body composition, etc.

And...I guess that’s it. Learning art and illustration doesn’t have to be expensive, you just gotta know where else to look. And be very, very observant. Best of luck, kaibigan! Stay strong and try not to procrastinate too much! :D

So you drew a thing quite a while ago of like a tribal design of Cocoon with Fang and Lightning's weapons crossed in front of it, and I really love it, and wanted to get a tattoo of it, but I wanted to see if that was okay first. If you don't want me to it's cool, I just didn't want to do it if you weren't okay with it.
