When I was younger, richer and not a parent, I used to have a room for yoga. A whole room. For yoga. That's all that went on in there. Every day, morning or night (sometimes both) whenever I fancied it. I didnt have to fit around anyone but myself. And I needed silence. And incense. And a candle. HAHAHA! . Then I went to India and trained as a teacher and shared a room in the Ashram with five other women. I became less precious about where I practiced. Then I went to live on an Ashtanga retreat in the mountains of Portugal, sleeping in a tent in the forest. I became even less fussy . Now I live in a teeny tiny flat in London with a nosy, noisy 4 year old I'm lucky if I can find a gap amongst the lego and dolls. And I can just hear myself breath over the sound of her singing, so if I want that silence I get up at 5am to practice before she wakes. I can assure you that doesn’t happen on a daily basis. . I make my home yoga practice fit. Anywhere and any way I can. And it works for me. . There are still a few spaces on my Coming Home workshop @triyogauk Camden tomorrow at 2-5pm. Come along and pick up tips for neatly fitting your home practice around your lifestyle and circumstances.
