Troll Customs
Seeming how you tend to be more motherly to the Heirs and dote on them more... You're the mom of the Darklands family. Happy Mother's Day, Bonely.
Bonely is going to squint very hard at this particular anon. He knew this was going to come at him eventually, but it still irked him something fierce. It was like he was going right back to that conversation about what “queen” meant between him and Gunmar.
But he knew this anon was doing it just to get a rise out of him, so he grit his teeth and gave his all-too-wide danger smile.
“Fella, as I’m neither mare nor queen, I think the words yer lookin’ fer is ‘Happy Father’s Day’,” Bonely replied, trying not to talk through gritted teeth. “Which, it’s a little early, but I’ll take the early Father’s day wishes all the same.”
//Ok so since this cold has reduced me to about 1.5 brain cells, I decided to use those brain cells to get a proper pic & palette ref for Troll!Bonely and Gelfling!Hope~ I might modify this pic to just have Bonely galloping but idk yet. —also I couldn’t decide if I liked light-sclera or dark-sclera so I did both. ENJOY!!
//So while watching The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, I saw the fordge in Stone in the Wood and immediately thought “that’s hot metal… Yeah, Troll!Bonely would be on that like a bear on honey comb.” //I’m sure the gelfling at Stone in the Wood would find this a “delightful” sight to wake up to XD
Bonely's on his second cup of coffee as he watches the various interactions between his gracious host and the other changelings. It was /bizarre/ seeing it in person, the literal cut-throat, dog-eat-dog mentality that flourished in and strangled this community of troll-shifters.
"Yeesh, 'n' I thought things in the mob were bad," he muttered into his cup, not realizing others were around to hear him.
Bonely is not going to let Gunmar see him in a suit. Nope. Nothing even close to human looking is going to make it on his body while Gunmar’s around. This will be the only guilty secret he keeps from his bond. He is not going to risk ridicule over that.
But... he is going to have a little fun in an unoccupied cave. A little illusionary dark magic to set the stage and it’s just like home back in Winderheim before he gave up the garbage business. The smell of cigars, the taste of success, and the head swelling power of really being the boss.
Ghosts and Sovereigns has he missed it.
“Go, Ninja, Go!” //becuse i need an excuse to throw kat at your troll :3//
A wide grin stretched across his broad stony face as he lowered himself to all fours, like a runner before a race. Bonely liked people with spunk and this dragon-demon gal seemed to have it in spades! Her rarin’, tearin’ attitude was a breath of fresh air after, and her enthusiasm was contagious! Not only that, but the obstacle course was set up just right for someone of his size. No rinkidink slim spaces for him!
“A’right,” he rumbled, rolling his shoulders eagerly. “Ready. Steady. Go!”
With a grand leap forward, Bonely charged the obstacle course, but with curiously more grace than most would expect. He hadn’t told anybody but before becoming a troll, he’d been learning a new movement style called “parkour” which, for a guy of his build, was incredibly uncommon. But with his life in the darklands, being able to run, jump, and roll while keeping your momentum had saved his bacon more times than he could count, not including this new challenge of fun!
Don't mind kat, she's just rattling her wings and growling because there's a dragon intimidating a friend of hers. She may or may not also be perching on Bonely's head and shoulders. maybe.
With how long Kat was in dragon form, one might’ve thought Bonely was wearing a cloak and cape made of dragon. Granted, the Red Death was bigger than both of them combined, but the caster still appreciated the sentiment.
“Uhh, Kat? How ‘bout we not antagonize the one who took on Gunmar ‘n’ won, eh?” He reached up and gave her a good stroke along her mane.
