A piece I did very early last year for Hilda and the Enchanted Art Gallery. It was probably one of the last in person events I participated in. Sigh... nice memories. I still have a handful of the leftover prints (and they're very nice big prints on fancy textured paper), but I'm not sure if I'm going to open up my online store again soon haha.

Sorry but I'm kinda mad about Hilda and the mountain King. Would it have been so hard not to kill trundle, like he had a point. Also "night of the trolls" my ass. Evacuate that city immediately and let that troll mom go. Can't stand this ending.

I’ve read “Hilda and the Mountain King” – as I understood it’s the last Hilda comics – (Spoilers!) the previous one ended with Hilda waking up in a cave in a troll body – so, in that issue, we find out that the troll “changed” her daughter (not biological, of course, this little troll just came to her) for Hilda because she thought it’s going to be better like this for everybody. Hilda wants to get back home (and have a human body) and her mother wants her home too, so, her mother searches for Hilda in the mountains and Hilda runs away and meets a huge troll trapped in a cage the entrance to which is blocked up with bells (trolls can’t stand bells if you remember) and the troll offers her a deal – she gets him out of cage and brings him a thing from the castle of the Mountain King and he turns her back into a girl. She does as he asked and then accidentally leads her mother, the troll mother and the troll child into the cage of the giant troll and she really turns back into a human child and the troll child also turns back, but she finds out that the giant troll she helped was the Mountain King himself and he wants to attack Trollberg and right now arranges other trolls to do so. The troll guard (that exists!) wants to fight back and they destroy the king but then Hilda, who saw the Mother of Trolls under the city, persuades them to back up and let the trolls to walk freely and then they all hear the Grandmother of Trolls (who, actually, lies under Trollberg) and plants start growing on all the trolls and now they have a Troll Day now when all the trolls can go into the city and hear the Grandmother. A very lovely comics about acceptance and tolerance.
