Dreamworks missed out on a huge opportunity to use the second movie's troll kings/queens to have Velvet and Veneer play different genres of songs. It always bugged me how they forget about the last movie whenever they make a new Trolls

Oops, guess who watched the other film series about tiny creatures that sing and dance?

Gave the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies another watch, I haven’t watched them since I was a kid. And unfortunately, I’m a little obsessed. David Cross’s performance as Ian is inspired, and the super processed chipmunk vocals honestly remind me of Vocaloid.

Just like Trolls, that third movie goes off the rails in the most delightful of ways, and it’s made me want to incorporate the songs and some of the plot into a little Chipwrecked inspired Trolls AU.

The basic idea so far: Branch and Poppy are engaged and having a joint Bachelor/Bachelorette party on vacay island, when their ship to travel there gets caught in a storm and crashes onto a deserted island. The gang (atm Poppy, Viva, Barb, Satin and Chenille, Branch, Clay, JD, and Floyd) have to survive on the island while Bruce, Brandy, and Bridget search for them.

A lot of the plot points get shuffled around and put onto different characters, but Im pretty set on Clay having Simon’s character arc

I love the AU idea of Branch being adopted into the rocks trolls. Especially the ones where he becomes Barb’s little brother. I feel like they would have such a great relationship. So I tried my hand at drawing them.

It’s lowkey so good but like all their fics are good to me. Very addicting to read. 10/10

No matter what kind of compromise that Queen Barbie and Branch try and come to, they just can't seem to get along! When Barbie's nonstop negligence towards the overall safety, of the village—much to Branch's dismay—leads to the discovery and easy infiltration of the village, Queen Poppy and her crew are quick to retrieve the Pop String that Barbie has been ignoring Poppy's repeated requests for.

Fed up with being ignored and often ostracized, Branch takes a leap of faith and decides to take up the suspicious queen's offer to start up his new life in her domain. But is she really as bad as she makes herself out to be? Is this really a chance for him to find out what true happiness looks like?

hi yes its not weird at all !! i was honestly going to post these eventually so the art didnt go to waste, so this was a great reminder tysm ily <3 I spent the last 2 hours compiling and cleaning up concepts for these AUs for you so I hope you enjoy!

★ROCKOPALYPSE AU★

This was my Trolls World Tour AU that explored an alternative timeline in the movie where Poppy and Hickory manage to escape from Barb instead of getting captured by her, and Barb through the grapevine finds out about Branch's brothers who she then has tracked down and captured by the hitman out of spite wahoo!! It basically has Barb "win" and successfully turn every troll (save for Poppy, Hickory, Branch, etc) into a Rock troll. We were gonna have Hickory have a change of heart and help Poppy escape (she delivers a shnasty clawed blow to Barb's face and it leaves a scar) and I lowkey don't remember a lot of what else we had planned LMAO-- all of this was an excuse to make Rock Zombie designs of the brothers yes yes I admit it. We were gonna have Poppy and Viva run into eachother when Viva ventures out to search for Clay too!! There was so much but I forgot it all ahaaa

I could never decide on what I wanted Floyd's zombie design to look like which is inevitably why I never ended up releasing the AU so sorry

★CHICAGO (2002) AU★

This one is a lowkey shitpost AU where me and @bulliestrolls replaced the Chicago (2002) cast with Trolls! An excuse to draw the characters in cabaret outfits yes absolutely. We didn't get far, having JD as Velma, Floyd as Roxie and Cloud Guy as Billy Flynn lmfao.

★MY LITTLE TROLLS AU★

Exactly what it sounds like, the Trolls as LITTLE PONIES!! Nothing special-- Has John Dory wishing he was a unicorn or pegasus (mainly the latter), Bruce washing up on Dragon island and meeting Brandy the fucking dragon oh yeah baby-- etc etc.

★SUCKER PUNCH AU★

I almost always end up turning my current hyperfixation into a Suckerpunch AU for shits and giggles cause its my favorite movie-- I will NOT explain this one as it would give away the plot to the movie and I guarantee you haven't seen it. Wanna make me the happiest person on earth? Give Suckerpunch (extended cut and only extended cut) a watch for me.

and finally, my BIGGEST most thought out original AU

This one will get it's own post someday, as it will probably require a content warning or two. I have a HUGE amount of hours put into this AU as I was originally intending on making it into it's own interactive tumblr blog, and I'm still hesitant on sharing the full timeline/plot of it in case I ever wanted to actually go through with it some day. I probably will share it all cause I doubt I'll ever pick it back up, but for now I'll leave you with this single image <3
