Behold a school that has,
542 students.
Four floors. PK has been operating for 29 years. Possibly a second building in the back since there doesn’t appear to be a divide. Massive grounds including a healthy sized sports field inclusive of a baseball diamond. My school wasn’t even half the size and enrolls an average of 1000 kids.
542 kids.
For a school that size?
It’s a private academy. On researching it, the cap on class size in Japan is 40 students. It’s not uncommon for private academies, especially the hoity toity ones, to limit class sizes to 20 people. The third year graduation chapter states at least one class has 32 people.
Depending on population distribution per grade level, that’s 27 homerooms. Saiki’s grade only has five homerooms.
The graduation chapter mentions four homerooms.
In a building that’s four levels high. In Japan. Presumably not too far away from Tokyo since they take a class trip to where you can see the Tokyo Skytree. Where space is absolutely at a premium.
And this isn’t considered unusual?
Also look at some of these ridiculous and ridiculously hardboiled 17/18 year olds
Even Saiki notes how hardcore some backstories are
Now granted the homeroom symbols are a joke based off zener card symbols but if third year has four homerooms with an average of 32 people that’s 128. Four Saiki’s year, that’d be an average of 160 so that leaves 254 first years to make up the 542 number.
In a school that has four floors, possibly two main buildings, and extensive grounds with yet more separate buildings.
Not only is that a bit of a jump that really implies a bit of a baby boom but as John Mulaney would say,
So why the baby boom? Why the hard boiled and overworked graduates? Why the psychic powers?
The take away I choose is
So anyways Saiki K is set in the post apocalypse.
i hate you. you’re just mad i have a hot robot gf with huge badonkers /j nm
I can’t tell you how surreal it is to remember being in college in 2009 when nazi and racist jokes were just considered 4chan troll shit and now the same people who made those kinds of jokes are Trump supporters. It’s just as jarring as remembering Jontron reviewing N64 games and now he regurgitates alt right talking points like his views on immigration. I just.. where’s that one meme where it starts off fun and then cuts to something DARK thats making the rounds rn. Its like that.
A lot of loyal Pokemon Gen 1 followers say things like “it was better when there were only 150 Pokemon, now they’re getting weird” and “the newer Pokemon designs don’t seem like Pokemon”. But come on, the Generation 1 Pokemon designs were ridiculous, I mean, look at this crap:
You can see Lan Wangji in this sequence wanting to get irritated and smack wwx down a bit, but at this point he has to be aware that wwx can people better than he can. So he visibly bites down his annoyance and asks wwx with a decent amount of respect what his plan is. Which is lovely to see.
WWX’s answer, though?

Lily: Hey, so there was a venue change, the party is at my place. Allison wanted me to text you right away, you know the address.
Lily: My dad will be answering the door, and there's a passcode to gain access. Just say 'repeal the second amendment' for him to let you in. See you there xoxo
