Solaris 2020, by the artist collective Tromaramais, a mural-sized undulating LED curtain screening a spectacular, luminous ecosystem populated with blooms of jellyfish. The screening presents a digital simulation of a unique marine environment – a landlocked body of salt and fresh rainwater formed over 11,000 years ago. Predator-free and able to thrive in warm waters, these jellyfish species have evolved differently, thus creating data unique that’s now available for studying the potential effects climate change may have on marine systems. * * * * * * #NGVtriennial #Tromarama #Solaris2020 #NationalGalleryOfVictoria #supergorgeousness #instagay #helleaux #learningtosee #artnerd #inspirationiseverywhere #instagrammers #appropriation #artfag #arthag #Helleaux #StayAtHomeModel #shotoniPhone (at National Gallery of Victoria) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQpQQoQLVsB/?utm_medium=tumblr

7) Zsa Zsa Zsu – Tromarama
This poppy and peppy exhibit was next to The Man Who and was a nice departure from the blacks and whites that filled the previous room.
Screens showing the music video in question were hooked up to headphones and placed across the walls.
Though it was pleasant enough, it didn’t feel particularly artsy to me. It was a music video and I appreciated the technical skills of stop-motion using buttons and beads, but it just felt like that: a music video.
The song was catchy, if a little generic, and the connection to their hometown was a pleasant surprise that explained the use of textiles for the video.
Their site, on the other hand, is wonderfully artsy. You can check it out HERE.
