I know that usually your 1 vote doesn’t do much but do you want to know where your one vote can have a large influence? Local town and city elections.

In my towns last election 7% of registered voters voted. Literally get your entire family to vote and all your friends and if your town is small enough you could single handedly sway the election so your preferred candidate wins.

No one votes in local elections despite them being very important so next time your town or city has an election get your whole friend group out to vote you could very well be the push your preferred candidate needs

Only Congress has the power to make laws and fund the government.

In these efforts Trump is attempting to make the Executive branch more powerful than the three co-equal branches this nation is founded upon.

Trump's border order

Declaration of border emergency: We needed this years ago, but let's not forget that a big part of why we're here is that Trump himself refused to undertake the reforms we needed back in his first term because any significant change or expansion was tied to that dumbass wall that wasn't ever going to happen even when he had two years' worth of a Congress with a much bigger Republican majority than now. He is addressing a problem, but it is a problem he helped create, so this is just Politician 101 right here.

Suspending refugee resettlement: Completely unnecessary and will only harm those in need. You wanna be more stringent with screening people? Fine. Maybe follow Europe in reversing course on Syrians now that they have a home to return to? Knock yourself out. But all that and more can be accomplished without halting things entirely. I know it's only temporary, but that's still help that could be done that won't be, and that's just pointless.

Suspending/ending automatic citizenship for being born on US soil: Firstly, I have no idea if this is temporary or permanent. If permanent, I don't think the President should have the power to make that call without Congress. However, I can't really decide my thoughts on this. Jus soli citizenship is almost exclusively a Western Hemisphere deal. Excluding a few tiny Pacific island states, exactly four countries in the Old World have this without any restrictions(the way we were doing it up till now)-Chad, Tanzania, Eswatini and Pakistan. In the New World however, every single country aside from a few tiny Caribbean nations has some form of it, and the only ones that have restrictions on it are Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and a few more tiny Caribbean states, with all others having it completely unrestricted, from Canada down to Argentina and everything in-between. I can see reasons to get rid of it(birth tourism is a big one), but I can also see some reasons to keep it, albeit in a modified form. So I've got no concrete opinion on the actual decision, but the President has no business being able to alter citizenship laws unilaterally, even if it is only temporary

White House Considers Changes to Law Banning Overseas Bribes

“It’s just so unfair that American companies aren’t allowed to pay bribes to get business overseas,” Trump said, according to a passage published by the Post. “We’re going to change that.”

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act prohibits individuals and businesses in the U.S. from paying money or offering gifts to foreign officials as a way to win business overseas.

So naturally Trump hates it.
