they actually get together after beijing 2022. everyone is convinced that the olympics would've ruined them forever and ever, and it's true that they'll never be the same. but now they can be something better.

there are only two people in the entire world who know about them—kamila and aliona. sasha considered getting mark (kondratiuk) to be her beard but concluded that she just couldn't trust him enough for that.

every time sasha attempts a quad she whispers 'this one's for you anna'. even if she immediately fails it afterwards. that's her girl.

sasha acts tsundere sometimes but anna is so quick to call her bluff that she just gives up.

since queer couples can't adopt in russia, baby misha is conceived via sperm donor. he is legally just sasha's baby, but sasha will fight for anna to count as his parent where it matters. his patronym is 'alexandrovich' because that could be 'son of alexandra' just as easily as 'son of alexander'. mikhail alexandrovich trusov is the apple of his mothers' eyes.
