Alright the end of my Among Us Art for tonight. Here is a comic about a theory I have. I am most def wrong, but I don't care, if I am, this is my headcanon.

Sorry it is 3 am . This may be out of character or not make sense. But in general I think orange sees the trust ball as sort of a comfort object?

Crewmate!Orange likes to play around with the trust ball but they don't get rough with it because they respect company property and they are better at keeping their composure than imp!Orange is. It's more so them fidgeting with it.

Maybe they would become extra careful with it after the trust ball clog thing, knowing it's their last (?) one.

Imp!orange I can see two routes for:

Either A: crewmate!orange's habit of playing with the trust ball carries over onto imp!orange but imp!orange has a little more fun with it. They enjoy balancing it on their visor and generally fiddling with it. I think they would also play catch with themselves if they were ever bored enough (like with their tentacles) or slowly roll the ball around on the floor back and forth ;p I don't think they would put it in their mouth out of risk for losing it, they would be really upset if something ever happened to it :(

Or B: they subconsciously liken the trust ball to their eggs and get super maternal for the trust ball because of it, resulting in them being super protective and careful with it. So like post getting infected orange refuses to even use the trust ball for the getting to know people thing. I don't quite remember how orange treated the trust ball later on in the show but even if this isn't accurate it's interesting to think about :^
