AI Behavior: Mao-Shirr is not an NPC to pick if you’re wanting an easy run. He *can* be useful, but overall, he has no combat experience. His healing requires mostly to be in melee range.
He will scavenge for materials during battle, using what he’s found to create potions. These potions can do one of three things; cure debuffs, add attribute buffs, and heal health. He has an ability that allows him to jump between allies to heal them in an “Triple Cast” of sorts.
As an AI, he is usually on top of everything - he’s not terribly horrible at keeping people alive. However, there will be 10 seconds of the battle where he is unavailable due to scavenging for materials. He will not initiate combat, nor does he participate in combat. There is a small percent of a chance that when an ally is damaged, vines and roots will parry attacks. He cannot Raise anyone that has been KO’d - this includes his LB3.
Battle Lines:
“M’ almost done! Hold out for juuuuus’ a second!” - Scavenging Line
“How’s that feel? Better I hope?” - Removing Debuff
“Y’ve got this!” - Adding an Attribute Buff
“Hang in there, I’ll fix this!” - Healing an Ally
“I’ve got ya’ covered! Y’ve got my back too, right?” - Assisting an ally (Will of the Garden)
Limit Break:
“I’ve got this, I swear! I can cover us!” - Using limit break with 1 bar
“Oh no, oh no - please hold on! Don’ worry!” - Using limit break with 2 bars
“Someone, *anyone*, please help me! I’ll keep you alive, I promise!” - Using limit break with 3 bars
KO’d:
“Fae.. Ra... Han... M’ so sorry.. I let y’down...” - Variation 1
“Please... not yet...” - Variation 2
Revived:
“For a minute there, thought I saw my siblin’s... ha, what a weird dream.” - Variation 1
“Ehck.. thank you, I ‘ppreciate it. Hate t’kick the bucket now.” - Variation 2
(( Thank you @hadriandemara-ffxiv for the tag! I worked too much on this, but I was in a hyperfocus mood so I finally got it done. May or may not do these for the rest of my characters... you can find M’nhea and Maximiloix’s here!
BONUSES AND SKILL LIST (including LBs) UNDER CUT
SKILL LIST:
Scavenge: 10 Second Cast, 20 Second Cooldown - scavenges the area for materials.
Concoct: 5 Second Cast, 10 Second Cooldown - randomly assigns three of any combination the following: First Aid, Power Up, and Medicine.
First Aid: Removes any debuff that can be esuna’d from target, will move caster to target’s side.
Power Up: Adds a random attribute buff to target, will move caster to target’s side.
Medicine: Will heal target for 500 potency or 50% of current health, which ever is more. Will move the caster to the target’s side.
Waste Not: 5 Second Cast, 120 Second Cooldown - caster will rapidly jump from from each party member, healing them for a potency of 200 while applying a minor attributes buff that lasts for 1 minute.
Want Not: 2 Second Cast, 120 Second Cooldown - Creates an AoE shield around the caster, negating up to 30% of all damage taken.
Will of the Garden (Passive): There is a 2% chance for damage done to any party member will summon a wall of vines and flowers to parry attacks for 20 seconds.
[LB1] Toss Out: The caster tosses concoctions at the party members, healing them for half of their total health and applying a minor attributes buff for 3 minutes.
[LB2] Desperate Measures: The caster calls upon the earth to bring bounty and succor; dealing 5% of damage of a single target’s total health. Drops fruits on the ground that party members may pick up for healing; fruits do not enter the player’s inventory and will be used automatically - heals for the player’s total health.
[LB3] Call of the Garden: The caster calls upon every bit of the plantlife around, dealing 10% of AoE damage from each target’s total health; and automatically heals party members to full health while applying the “Boughs of the Garden” buff. Cannot Raise any KO’d targets.
“Boughs of the Garden”: Negates up to 10% of damage taken. Lasts 30 Seconds.
IF IN A PARTY WITH HADRIAN:
Mao-Shirr’s “Scavenge” cast and cooldown time will half - with a 5 second cast and a 10 second cooldown.
“Concoct”‘s cast and cooldown time will half - with a 2.5 second cast, and 5 second cooldown.
“Want Not”’s cooldown time is halved to 60 seconds.
He gains the ability “Cover Me”, where he forces the target (always Hadrian) to take the cover status; negating any damage done to Mao-Shirr and applying it to Hadrian - while this is happening, Mao-Shirr is doing healing over time to him at a rapid pace, healing any and all damage done to him. He cannot heal anyone else in the party while he is under the “Cover Me” effect. The effect lasts for 10 seconds.
BONUSES:
If the player uses a potion or status removing potion (not elixirs), he will comment: “What? Not doin’ a good ‘nuff job for ya’?”
If the player dances, Mao-Shirr will mimic the dance; same if the player uses the /laliho emote.
If the player is afk for 5 minutes, Mao-Shirr will kneel down and prod at any nearby plantlife. If they’re afk for 7 minutes, he’ll flop onto his back and take a nap.
Weapons: A Sword and Shield, or a Gunblade. He switches between the two.
AI Behavior: A reliable and well-trained tank with a mouth that won’t quit. Ouros is ready and willing to expend any and all his tricks and aether to save his party and friends, even if that means being left behind in the process. Whatever it takes to succeed, he will do it. However, while he is a rather reliable tank, he comes with two glaring issues: One, he has a habit of talking. A lot. During pulls and in-between pulls, he will comment on everything and try to talk to everyone. Secondly, he will, on very rare occasions, stop responding and be stunned for three to five seconds, resulting in him eating a mechanic without popping proper damage mitigation. This stun is entirely based on RNG, and some may not even see it happen. Like Nalin and Rayana, he has special dialogue depending if he’s partied with other members from The Windsong Lancers.
Battle Lines:
“Get ready!” - Battle begins, variation 1
“It will be different this time.” - Battle begins, variation 2
“Take this!” - Attacking enemy, variation 1
“Oooh! That looks like it hurt.” - Attacking enemy, variation 2
“Forgive me, I had no other choice.” - Lands a killing blow
“I won’t let them hurt you!” - Using damage mitigation on ally
“Saw that coming.” - Using damage mitigation on self
“I’m not weak… Not anymore!” - Using a Damage increase buff
“Hey! Yoo-hoo! Big, tall and ugly! Over here!” - Provoke, variation 1
“Wow your breath smells worse than a Morbol!” -Provoke, variation 2
“Not today!” - Stunned enemy, variation 1
“Try that again, I dare you...” - Stunned enemy, variation 2
“Wow… This is AWESOME! Thank you!” - Receiving buff
“Erng... N-no--...!” - Stunned
Limit Break:
“Here we go!” - Using limit break with 1 bar
“Get behind me!” - Using limit break with 2 bars
“Just this once, let me save them… Please.” - Using limit break with 3 bars
KO’d:
“This--… This isn’t how it was supposed to go...” - Variation 1
Duty Commenced: “Ain’t it a fine day t’find some trouble, yeah? Can’t be all that bad.”
Assisting: “’Ey! Be careful there, yer gonna get hurt!”
Being Assisted: “Ah-..erm, thanks. Again. Sorry t’make y’keep doin’ this fer me.”
Idle Banter I: [Instead of banter, he’ll hum a random tune.]
Idle Banter II: “Think y’d write a song ‘bout all this nonsense? I’d like t’hear it, if y’do.”
Idle Banter III: “I don’t really think ‘fore I dress, do I? Robes’re great in th’Shroud, it ain’t here. Too hot.” (Will say this even if the instance is in a typically cold zone.)
Idle Banter IV (Incredibly rare chance of happening): [He’ll sing along to one of Danyell’s songs.]
Witnessing Danyell KO: “No- no, no, no! Not you- ye’re okay, ye’re okay, get on yer feet! I can’t lose ya’... [Danny will drop everything he is doing to attempt picking Danyell back up, even at the cost of his own health and life.]
Reviving Danyell: “Get up, get up! Please let this work- y’can’t die on me now, not now! Please wake up!”
Duty Completed: “Ugh, finally... I could do with somethin’ t’eat, all this stress makin’ me hungry. Care t’join me?”
Bonus! If entering a woods-like or nature filled area, his “Duty Commenced” phrase will change: “This place makes me kinda homesick, doesn’t it? They still speak t’me, even this far away.”
Bonus Bonus!
If Danny is in a group with Danyell, he will take priority in healing - regardless of how injured anyone else is. He’s usually on top of it quickly, but that does come with the downside of Danyell taking a small portion of damage while someone else is at near-death.
Danny is less likely to stand in telegraphed attacks with Danyell in the party, and will care more about making sure that he, himself, is not hurt too badly.
Danny will use Rescue on Danyell if he thinks that he can’t make it out of an attack on time. (Or on long stretches of no enemies, just for fun.)
(( Thank you for the ask, @renofmanyalts!!! Danny and Danyell in a party together would be something at the very least XD ))
My turn! (Amosis and Maati, with Maati as thaumaturge)
(Credits to you for the picture of Amosis! I screamed trying to get the damn thing to paste to the trust layers I had “orz)
Before Commencing Duty: If Maati is chosen to join the party (or is the player character), and one is wanting Amosis to join - he will default to the tank position, and cannot be chosen for DPS unless Maati is not in the group.
Duty Commenced: “I wonder what I can catalog here - do tell me if you find anything interesting.” [He will pause until after the group has started moving.] “Including anything you may wish to see in the garden.”
Assisting: “Take caution, please, *I* am supposed to be the reckless one.”
Being Assisted: “I thank you - is, ah, this what embarrassment feels like?”
Idle Banter I: “If I knew we would have had time to talk, I would have brought something to eat as well.”
Idle Banter II: “You know... we used to have creatures similar to these in the Continuum. Perhaps I can find the logs for you.”
Idle Banter III: “I should have known better, but I did not think you were capable of doing such feats! You continue to surprise me. I suppose that is why I... ah, nevermind.”
Witnessing Maati KO: “N-No, not- not you... not again...”
Reviving Maati: “You are *not* allowed to die yet - not yet! Not again, not ever!”
Duty Completed: “Well, that is enough data for one day, don’t you think? Let us return home for some.. much needed rest.”
Bonus!: If the instance is of Allagan make, his “Duty Commenced” phrase will change to: “What relics can I take back today? Hopefully something in working condition. What about another chimera in a box?”
If the instance is in Azys Lla: “...I do not like these memories I am reliving, let us be done with this quickly.”
More bonuses!
Amosis gains the ability “Cover” while in a party with Maati, and will Cover her each time the cooldown is up.
Even if the healer is on top of everything, if Maati drops below 50%, he will use both “Heart of Stone” and “Aurora” on her.
Amosis loses the ability to use “Superbolide” while in a party with Maati.
Amosis’s “Bloodfest” has a cooldown of 30 seconds while in a party with Maati.
Amosis is immune to “Charm” effects while in a party with Maati.
(( Thank you for the ask, @renofmanyalts!! I have so much fun with these XD ))
"My turn!" - for Mao-Shirr this time, in anticipation of SHENANIGANS ON THE FIRST
Duty Commenced: “Oh, wait, me? Really? Are y’sure? Oh, uh... okay then!”
Assisting: “O-Oh, wait, I have just the thing!” [There is a 5% chance that instead of assisting, he will just hand Hadrian a lemonette.]
Being Assisted: “Ha- thank you, I needed that... guess it’s your turn to take care o’ me instead, huh?”
Idle Banter I: “I think this trip warrants a nice meal when we get back! I’m sure I can cook somethin’ up with... somethin’. Definitely not Meol, though, that stuff’s gross.”
Idle Banter II: [Mao-Shirr breaks into a Dwarven drinking song while idle - he belts it, unfortunately.] “In heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here! And when we're gone from here, all my friends will be drinking all the beer~♪”
Idle Banter III: “Tell me another story from your world! The way you tell them’s so intriguin’! M’sure we got time or two for ‘em!”
Witnessing Hadrian KO: “W-Wait, no, please hold on- just a little longer! I can fix this, I can...”
Reviving Hadrian: [N/A - Mao-Shirr is incapable of raising KO’d allies.]
Duty Completed Variant 1 - If Hadrian has not been KO’d / Has been revived by another player or party member: “...Maybe a meal *and* a drink, how’s that sound. That was some tough work- thank you for keeping me safe!”
Duty Completed Variant 2 - If Hadrian is KO’d: “I- I’m sorry.. I’ll - I’ll be quick, I’ll get someone to help, I promise! I promise.. okay? Just please hold on...” [He will drag Hadrian while leaving the instance.]
(( Thank you for the ask @hadriandemara-ffxiv!! And thank you for doing one without me having to send one in, cause it was very much needed for these two XD ))
--
BONUSES!
Ability bonuses are in this post here!
Upon entering Mt. Gulg: “A-Are you sure we have to do this? Can’t we go back? Let someone else handle somethin’ for once!”
He will perform a “Cheers” emote to Hadrian after boss battles.
Sometimes, he’ll throw lemonettes at enemies... they do nothing useful or helpful.
My turn! Hadrian aaaaaaaaand... ohgod. SO MANY. Take your pick!
Duty Commenced: “Oh, dear, here we go - this is going to be hells, isn’t it? Well, I suppose I am ready when you are.”
Assisting: “Who would have thought? Reckless as ever.”
Being Assisted: “What a cruel hand fate dealt me to be relying on you again. Thank you.”
Idle Banter I: “Please do not tell me you are planning on *using* that ceruleum canister - did I not teach you the proper usage of an enhanced weapon earlier, you are going to get *all* of us killed.”
Idle Banter II: [If Hadrian is singing the 99 bottles song] “By Thaliak, not again. I’ve had enough of this since the last hundred times - drink your drinks and get it done an over with.”
Idle Banter III: “How interesting do you believe these fights would be on Milkroot? Too much? Ah, well, let me know if you want some.”
Witnessing Hadrian KO: “Hey, now, be careful with yourself- hey! I *will* put you in that watch if you don’t get up!”
Reviving Hadrian: “I have dealt with you for too long to see you have a pathetic death here - now up you get, and stay up!”
(Repeated Hadrian KO: “Really? Again? Must I keep doing this? You are staying down until I am not busy, this time. Consider it payback for all the times you slammed me against a wall until my gears were forced to move.” )
Duty Completed: “That was... tiresome. I am getting too old for this. I suppose a few drinks would not hurt much, I would ask if you would like to join me but it seems I know the answer already.”
Bonuses!
If another DPS is ranged, Hadrian will take first pick on Ranged DPS cards while in a party with Eulan.
If Hadrian stands in too many telegraphed AoEs, Eulan will stop healing him and instead laugh at him.
If the player character (or if Hadrian is the player character) afk’s for five minutes, Eulan will pass Hadrian a somnus pipe.
If the PC is afk for seven minutes while Hadrian is in the group, Eulan will mimic the sounds of a ticking clock.
If Eulan knows that he cannot make it out of a telegraphed attack, he will Rescue Hadrian into it with him (unless it is a one-hit kill ability). He will also Rescue him into stack mechanics.
Eulan is immune to “Charm” and “Confusion” debuffs while in a party with Hadrian.
My turn! (From @styrlona for whomever needs a tanky gal.)
( Lothaire is always in need of a meat shield tank! )
Duty Commenced: “Oh, thank you so much for joining me! I really appreciate it, and I’m sure my husband does too - you’ll be well compensated for the effort!”
Assisting: “I’ve got your back!”
Being Assisted: “Oh, dear, that’s rather like me, isn’t it - thank you!”
Idle Banter I: “You look like you’re from Limsa! Is my assumption correct? I met my husband there - quite the story, if you’d believe it.” [He will go into the entire story down to the last detail if no enemies are pulled before he starts.]
Idle Banter II: [He will comment on the weather, the statement stays the same, though is voice is sarcastic when bad weather is taking place.] Well, isn’t this great weather to do some research - don’t you think? Maybe I can bring my husband here next time, I think he’d enjoy it!
Idle Banter III: “I’ve studied a creature like this once! It...” [The text bubble above his head will say *ramble ramble* until the creature or boss is dead.] “Oh, it’s dead now... well, maybe we can learn more about the next one!”
Witnessing Styrlona KO: “Wait, hold on, I can fix this! I’m so sorry, my friend!”
Reviving Styrlona: “There... we are... all better. Just, ah... give me a moment.” [Each time Lothaire is forced to raise a party member, he is affected with the “Down for the Count” debuff for 30 seconds]
Duty Completed: “Well, that wasn’t so hard! Thank you again for joining me, I learned so much! Perhaps I’ll call upon you again for more work, there’s always research to be done!”
More Bonuses!
While in a party with a hired bodyguard (in this case, with Styrlona), Lothaire has two additional aetherflow usages.
During boss battles with friends or bodyguards, Seraph’s recast timer is knocked down to 90 seconds; Seraphic Veil can only be used once per summon, however.
While in a party with a bodyguard, Lothaire’s Eos has its healing increased by 30%.
While in a party with Styrlona, Lothaire gains the passive ability “Llymlaen’s Trust”; increasing the amount of shielding of both Galvanize and Catalyze from 125% to 200% - this effect only works on Styrlona, and affects all other party members normally.
(( Thank you so much for the ask @styrlona / @illia-ast!! Lothaire’s a little weakling and needs a bodyguard p much 24/7 XD ))
AI Behavior:
M’nhea is an incredibly good tank - meaning that he will draw aggro from every enemy onto himself, stun enemy attacks and nothing else. He will not dodge regular telegraphs, only on bosses will he follow the basest of mechanics. He will rarely use cooldowns, nor will he heal himself. He will only use cooldowns once he’s reached below 10% of his health, or he has the aggro of more than five enemies at once. He won’t pull ahead, but he will take aggro should the player decide to. He’s a little dumb sometimes, but he means well. You definitely do not want him as your tank if you are playing a healer. He will put the safety of everyone else above his own well being - one of his specialty skills even pushing back his comrades should they be too close to him (standing in front of mobs, not necessarily within melee range - he’s not a jerk).
Battle Lines:
“Let’s dance! ...Or at least shuffle this way some, I don’t know how to dance.” - Starting Attack Line, Variation 1
“Bet you weren’t expecting this! Ha ha!” - Starting Attack Line, Variation 2
“Get back! You’ll get hurt!” - Using Specialty Skills, Variation 1
“Don’t test me!” - Using Specialty Skills, Variation 2
“I’ve got you! You okay?” - Assisting an ally
Limit Break:
“Take cover!” - Using limit break with 1 bar
"Try not to get hurt! I’ll take care of this!” - Using limit break with 2 bars
"I won’t let you hurt them! Not again! I can’t lose them again!” - Using limit break with 3 bars
KO’d:
“N-No... not yet...” - Variation 1
“I.. I’m so.. so sorry...” - Variation 2
Revived:
“Good as new! Thanks!” - Variation 1
“Thank goodness, I thought I was done for!” - Variation 2
[Thank you for the tag, @lukawarrioroflight!! M’nhea is a good boy, he’s just dumb as a box of rocks. Bonuses under the cut!]
Edit: I forgot the tools and sources! Template and fonts, courtesy of @locke-rinannis - >> FOUND HERE <<
Don’t have photoshop? Neither do I! I used a free online version at freephototool.com! It takes a bit longer, but there’s no payments or downloads necessary and it can do pretty much everything photoshop can (as well as open .psd files perfectly!)
Bonuses!
If Wultgar is in the party, he’ll be a bit more responsible thanks to his friend’s warnings - he won’t stand in as many things, and will follow boss mechanics perfectly. He will regularly use Cover on Wultgar regardless of whether he is taking damage or not.
If the player stands around too long, he’ll fall asleep while standing (5 min), if they don’t move after 7 min, he’ll sit down and take a nap.
If the player eats food inside of the dungeon, he’ll comment on it.
“Is there any left?”
“Can I have some?”
“Are you gonna eat all that?”
If the player uses any dances, he will copy the idle dance. If they /dote him, he will dote back. Hugs are always returned in kind.
