So, i have read a lot of fanfics where Lila gets Marinette akumatized and her power is to reveal the truth.
I have also read a bunch where one of the class have an akuma where they force the class to reveal how they truly feel about each other, usually caused by the class yelling at Marinette for something Lila caused. One specific one I enjoyed was where Rose was akumatized and the class blurted the truth, no matter how painful, including the fact that not a single one of them believed Lila. They just wanted to knock Marinette down a few pegs due to their jealousy.
My thought is: what if we combined them?
The class is arguing, most of them yelling at Marinette for something Lila said she did, and Marinette is loudly proclaiming they shouldn't believe her. Eventually, an akuma comes. Maybe it is for Marinette, maybe it hits her because she pushes someone else out of the way.
Whatever made her the one to get hit, she is turned into Marivealer (combining the Mari from her name and the word revealer), to expose the truth, no matter who it is.
It starts simple. Adrien reveals he is in love with Ladybug. Kim feels he is not good enough for Ondine.
Then it gets tougher. Chloe has low self-esteem, which is why she puts others down. Alya is 100% willing to put her blog above everything else in her life, including her family, best friend, and boyfriend.
It is only after everybody has been hit by her power that Marivealer goes for Lila. She wanted everyone to know that the power was real so that Lila couldn't lie about it later, say that the akuma tricked them. Lila is forced to reveal every single lie she has told them.
Marivealer is ecstatic. Finally, the class will have to believe her now. Except...
Except that she hadn't realized her power was continuous, whether she was focused on that person or not. The other students are sstill forced to tell the truth. And they all confess to having known already that Lila was lying. They all knew, and used Lila like she tried to use them.
Sure, they got irritated being forced to carry lunch for her, or write her notes. But it gave them a chance to go after Marinette, who thought she was above them all. They wanted to prove she wasn't as great as they seemed to think she believed she was.
Marinette, in her pure heartbreak, breaks free of the akuma's control. She uses her power on herself, because she, in her neber ending compassion, would never, even now, tell them what she thought.
She says that the only reason she cared Lila was lying at all was that she was potentially ruining her friends' lives. They all thought they had connections, they wouldn't actually work to achieve their dreams, or they would give up. She didn't want that to happen. She wanted them to achieve everything they dreamed.
She talks about how she had 0 self-worth. That she only thought herself as worth anything if she was doing things for other people. That was why she never turned down favor requests, or cashed in the ones she was owed. If they stopped relying on her, what good was she? She also mentions that they were the ones to teach her this. After all, for years, she was only talked to if someone needed something" then promptly ignored once it was done.
She talks about how she is drowning in the expectations placed on her. She never wanted to be class president. She hates the job. She only did it because the people who did were to afraid of Chloe, and that she was forced even after voicing her objections. She hates doing free commisssions. It takes 90% of her allowance to buy fabric, leaving barely enough for the odd treat every couple weeks, which is why she often turns down invitations to anywhere that might cost money. And the few times she did try to get her classmates to pay, she was met with almost scorn.
She confesses that she had been losing all faith in her classmates lately. She had consistently been brushed off to being solely jealous, no matter how often she proved she would put it aside for other's happiness. She had been labelled a klutz that couldn't be trusted with anything without it breaking, despite the fact that her clumsiness was a result of the stress and frantic nature people often made fun of after they purposefully put her on the spot, as if wanting her to fail.
And finally, she tells them that because the akuma was no longer controlling her, she would forget nothing. And she breaks the object it was in, leaving the classroom in tears.
Some of the class is ashamed, not realizing how lowly she actually thought of herself. Others, the more arrogant one, thought it was justified and that they had done nothing wrong.
