This month, Stanford University students voted on a campus resolution that would have their college require a course on Western civilization, as it did until the 1980s. Stanford students rejected the proposal 1,992 to 347. A columnist at the Stanford Daily explained why: Teaching Western civilization means “upholding white supremacy, capitalism and colonialism, and all other oppressive systems that flow from Western civilizations.” The vote — and the column — encapsulated the left’s view: In Europe, Latin America and America, it loathes Western civilization.

Revolt!

The thing with loneliness is it doesn't exist when you’re in constant contact with people. But does constant contact with other really mean you are not alone? Social media is the cure and the curse. The desire to “stay connected” is one that was created by companies feeding off the souls of their members. The constant gratification someone gets by likes, favourites, upvotes, and retweets. These are ways these apps and websites give people a false sense of meaning. A way to say “I matter”. You don't matter. Not to those people at least. We are all trapped in this never ending machine that lives off the people’s desire to be accepted, to be a part of something greater. There is nothing wrong with being a part of a community, but when you start to determine your self worth by your presence in that community it will do nothing but slowly lead to the decay or society as we know it.
