Nidalee rarely left the Kumungu jungles, much less travelled as far away from her home as Bilgewater. But the colder season in the Northern regions of Runeterra meant torrential rains in her home, and no one wanted to be doused by rain, trudging through mud in low visibility just to hunt a few animals, as rare as they were. There were better days to do so.
So as it was, she was relieved of her duties for a while. Her goddess would tell her when the rains were stopping, and then she would have to return to her home to assume her mantle as its guardian once more. However, for now, she was free to do whatever she wished, and she wished to satisfy her curiosity of the further reaches of the earth she tread upon. She followed her feet to the seaside port of Rat Town, doing her best to avoid stares of those sitting at the roadsides.
There seemed to be a singular solace in this madness, and that was the temple which loomed at the end of town. She walked straight for it, eager to find some rest from prying eyes. Once she reached its entrance, though, she hesitated.
It was the head of a serpent, its maw wide and welcoming to anyone brave enough to enter. Her goddess warned her that this was sacred ground, and that she may not have the power to protect her ambassador should anything happen. Nidalee shook the thought away, and with childlike innocence and an unquenchable curiosity, she stepped forwards into the temple, feeling a brief relief from the strong sea winds. Her vibrant eyes looked around, taking in the interior of the temple. The grip of weathered palms on the wooden shaft of her spear tightened in a form of comfort to the bestial huntress.
