“Hey, hey, back off, all of you. Please.” They never seemed to leave.
At first, it was only Judy’s problem. Oceans of mammals wanting to know more about ‘the first bunny cop’ and ‘how she did it’ seemed to be everywhere she went. It was ridiculous, just searching up ‘Judy Hopps’ on Zoogle would bring up thousands of slanderous articles and images.
Whenever she was swarmed, Nick could do nothing but stand by and worry about how well she could breathe. He had hoped that this was a case of temporary ‘Paparazzi-itis,’ and that they would eventually leave her alone.
And in a way, they did. However, this was only because the mammals had realized that they could get more information from Judy’s partner. Paparazzi-itis was contagious.
“OK, look, I’ll talk about the most common question all of you have. Will ya leave me alone then?” he said, the desperation clear in his voice.
“Fluff is a fantastic partner, I wouldn’t have anybody else. She’s gutsy and loyal, she’s great. And as for if we’re in a relationship or not…
You’re gonna have to ask her for details,” the fox said before scurrying away.

“Oh, stop!” The rabbit snorted, setting down her glass. “I meet men everyday and, you know what, none have ever been all that interested in me and that’s fiiiine. I don’t have a care in the world!”
Was it a lie? Poor ole’ Judy probably didn’t even know herself.
“And please tell me if I’m being too much. I’ve never really drank a lot before since there were always kits at home.”
The wolfess leaned back into the booth, her own vision starting to swirl just a bit. She listened to the rabbits words and tried to pick the truth from them. Grinning scandalously, she leaned forward, her chest against the table.
“Do you mean to say you’re fine with it becaush... You prefer women, Judy?”
It was something that had crossed her mind. She herself was dedicated to her work, too much so for male suitors, but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t interested in a certain dream date with a certain singing ungulate...
“I mean, I’m the firsht to admit men are terrible, always circling but never saying... What do they want, even? Right? Judy?”

Rosebud couldn’t entirely recall how they got to this point. There was a conversation, some laughs...and then they were cuddling. His breaths were slow, his mane looking ready to consume her while she was curled up on his chest. He brought up a hand, resting it atop her, claw reaching up to gently stroke her head.
“I know I’m not supposed to say this...but you look so adorable right now, I could just eat you up.” The large feline let out a gentle chuckle, “Well, not really eat, I’m a vegetarian. But in a different way...”

“Rabbits are known to be quick.” Judy countered wittily before her ears instinctively flattened to her back. The howl alarmed her, yes, but the hyenas had completely taken her off guard. There was no way Judy was getting out of this but that was never her plan. She did want to know where her partner went. Whether he was here or whether the mayor was bluffing widely.
“Just like every politician today; you keep changing your story. If what you said earlier was true, you haven’t laid a paw on Nick. He’s working with you, right? Stop trying to get reactions out of me!” Judy hadn’t realized that her tone had anger to it. The last thing she wanted to do was give this wolf any satisfaction.
Slowly, Aurelina began reloading the dart gun. “It’s simple. We had a talk. The only thing that that was tortured was his heart. When I told him how you really felt about foxes? How you, a doe from Bunnyburrow, were raised to despise them? That you’re really just humoring him... I’d like to take you willingly. No one needs to be shot in the leg or tranquilized, do they?”
The wolfess stepped closer, paws raised in the air, tranquilizer still gripped in one. “I want you two investigative wonders out of the picture for a little bit. Just enough time for me to get this legislation pushed through. You’ll have no way to convict me, no proof but your words... And then? You can hop right back into the world. A world where prey have a curfew. Where they are not allowed to commit all the fear-fueled violence they have been on us predators... You’re all dangerous, Officer Hopps. Minds clouded by hatred and spite. Eager to see predators ground into the dust of history. Well I won’t stand for it. Come now. Shall I take you to see Nick? I’ve no intention of hurting you. Trust in me.”

“NO.”
“You know, with nearly three hundred siblings...you’d think you’d have seen lots of naked animals, and gotten used to it.
Also, yes.”

This pen had to belong to that ZPD officer over there. Who else could it possibly belong to? Come on! The object looked like a carrot! Only a prey animal, a rabbit in this case, would own a pen that looks like a carrot.
The best thing to do was to return it to her. What if there was something hidden inside the pen, something that could help her find it back whenever she lost it? Someone from the ZPD finding out about ‘Wild Times’ wasn’t something that the fox wanted to happen.
Time to approach her and give it back. There he went, letting out a cough in an attempt to gain her attention.
“I think you might want to have this back? It fell on the ground.”
