The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.

ok so ofcourse i have been trying to refrain from even talking about this treyvon martin matter. So on fb my cuzzin shares a link and hes debating back and forth with one of his friends. and all i say is " it could have been easily prevented, if he did not approach the boy, he called the cops thats fine; he is merely neighborhood watch- yet he decided to disregard the instruction of the dispatcher and approach the child, from there on things got out of hand and a life was lost , which could have clearly been avoided." Not once did i mention race, or any other nonsense that the media has exposed to us i just kept it simple, and his friend on the contrary disagrees, he feels as though the man had a right to shoot the boy because he allegedly broke his nose and in florida the law permits you to take force. I dont this he got what i ws trying to say , if zimmerman did not even approach treyvon , he would be alive. If zimmermanwould have listened to the dispatchers instructions, he would be alive. If zimmerman was not trying to be the big macho neighborhood watch, this boy would be alive.
The thing that got me with this person i was debating with , is that their thoughts were so boxed. They refused to think about any other possibility of error, considering zimmerman did not break Fl. law. he began to reiterate the fact that the law is the law. NO the law is the law until it is provided unfit or misused. laws are changed, and thrown out, and clauses are made etc etc. so you as a human being to be on the side of the law , especially when it was taken for granted , is just sad. As i was typing i was developing a physical pain in my chest because, a human life was lost and it could have been prevented. While someone is trying to defend their killer, because it is the law.smh it was unfathomable. Disregarding race this young man lost his life with many years ahead of him. smh
taking an objective approach , i understood his argument about the law.. the law says its ok so its ok.. i want him to really look at previous law , laws that were thrown out all together... and ask himself if when the law was in tact was everyone who was abiding by the law right... although it was their right,,,, were they right?
maybe there was some error in my argument idk but he just wasnt getting it ... he was standing by the law.... think outside of the box my friend, the law is not always reliable... you can disagree with the law
the boy i was debating with was indeed a white boy , i really try to keep race out though , i do . because once its used as the main argument , it clouds judgement

Mue something new has come out, the kid was suspended for fighting a bus driver, zimmerman had his nose broken, cuts on his head, and grass stain on his pants. If thats true, he is not wrong for shooting. Because you and i both know, if he had his gun out before asking questions, no one in their right mind would fight someone with a gun pointed at them, which means there was an altercation before the shooting, zimmerman receiving a broken nose, meaning he is allowed to stand his ground. The truth hurts

NickObviously he couldnt beat him up, he got his nose broke and head slammed into the ground. He didnt pull out his gun until after he got his nose broken and head smashed, and the stand your ground law allows you to fight off an attacker with any amount of force, trayvon was the attacker, cuz how could he have gotten his nose broke with his gun pulled? Its because he didnt pull the gun out until after, which is legal

ur kidding right .. i reiterate the fact that for him even to approach the boy , was in fact uncalled for. considering he was even informed to keep his distance from the boy.... if someone walked up to you grabbed you or was even rude and said wat are you doing and you punched him ....and then he shot you -_- wouldnt your family be sad too...wouldnt they want their son back .. did you deserve to die bc you 'allegedly'punched someone.. anyway im not a debater, ived refrained from even speaking on this issue... merely a human who thinks this was wrong regardless of race that a grown man took a boys life. , and was not in any way a spontaneous doing, considering it could have been easily avoided

Your missing the whole point, the boy shouldnt of hit him in the first place, he was being asked questions, if he did nothing wrong why did he react in that matter? So if someone asked you what u were doing you break his nose? Thats fucking retarded.. Also thats the fucking law. So him approaching the boy broke a law? The answer is no. Everyone is so tied up in the racial factor that they are missing the true facts. Its called the stand your ground rule for a reason. The fact of the matter is, if trayvon would have just answered a few questions instead of breaking the guys nose, he would be alive today. He is dead because he was the aggressor, point blank.

yeah the point your missing is it could have been prevented, he didnt go over there with the intent of killing him, otherwise he would have had his gun out in the first place and asked no questions. trayvon was wrong, he broke his nose, didnt know "white boy" had a gun and got popped. so yes your right it could have been prevented, if everyone followed the law. asking someone what they are doing does break a law, breaking someones nose does break a law, which allows you in turn to defend yourself.
