Welcome back Virgil Sanders, thank you for killing the art block that had me in a chokehold
Sanders Sides theory time!
Yes, I know some people have already spoken about this theory (for example @lostonehero ) But I just wanted to bring this up.
We already know that Deceit represents lies as a dark side. And many of us also have another theory about Virgil being Paranoia in his dark side past.
If Remus for example went to the light sides we all know he'll just be creativity (Except being also called by the name "The Duke" of course). But instead of dark creativity he'd either be just creativity or green creativity which would make Roman red creativity.
But what if Deceit went to the light sides?
Would he still stay as Deceit or would he change his 'name'.
SPOILERS TO SVS
In the episode "Selfishness vs Selflessness" he has been shown as a lawyer (liar :V)
..Anyways he wanted to make Thomas decide on one thing that Thomas pretty much liked and wanted more at first. Instead of going to the wedding. (Because you know...Anything can happen on weddings you can trip while dancing, humiliate yourself and face the SOCIETY)
He basically just wanted Thomas to not be that selfish but also follow his dreams and that's not such a selfish thing actually.
I think that if he'd have actually changed his name it would be something similar to righteusness or vadility, because well.. That just sort of fits him for some reasons. (AND JUSTICE IS BLIND) Jk, I'm sorry.
But imagine Deceit being a good snake boy trying to make stuff right because I see that he actually tries to make things right in his own little way, I really don't see him as a bad guy. Even Remus. He might be crazy but he gives me Spinel vibes for some reason.
Anyways if you've read this post to this moment you apparently had patience over my stupidity trying to write something close to intelligent but probably failing.
I HATE, HATE, people who headcanon Insanity as a side! It's down right ableist. Are they implying that ch! Thomas, a character that is closely based on a real person, has a mental illness? Are mental illnesses just this fun things you can use as accessories now? ( 1st part)
I haven’t seen a lot of people portraying insanity as a side, but I can see how that would be a bit problematic if done incorrectly.
I don’t think it is necessarily a bad thing, but I don’t really like that way of going about it. To me, sides can encompass different symptoms of mental illnesses, but there wouldnt be a side solely for that illness. Sides are representations of part of a single person’s personality and mental illnesses are something that they would struggle with, not a fellow personality trait. For example, Virgil is anxiety, but he may display symptoms of paranoia if Thomas was experiencing that kind of mindset. If the theory is right and Virgil did used to be know as paranoia, then Thomas only chose too see virgil that way. Virgil was still anxiety, fight or flight, etc., but he also was affected very harshly by Thomas’ Paranoia. The same could go for depression. If Thomas were to experience depression, then Patton would probably have trouble feeling happier and more positive thoughts, Roman would probably be less motivated and passionate, and Logan probably wouldnt be on his best game.
I don’t know a lot about insanity as a mental illness and don’t feel quite qualified to talk about it, but I imagine it could be represented by a disfunction in communication between the sides. It definately would not be its own side though.

WHAT THE FHUUUU
Meet my Sander sides OC, paranoia! Hes Virgils twin (That's why he doesn't like the word paranoid) He has three extra eyes on his left side, and five on the back of his head And his hair is going grey, cause hes always stressed and paranoid over ever little and big thing
Okay so we know how the sides really shy away from calling Virgil paranoid. That could of course be just because they don't want to be mean, but I've also seen that theory that Virgil was paranoia run around.
If you take that with the fact that the sides (roughly) are what Thomas sees them as/thinks about them and the fact that creativity's split was essentially because of Thomas' view on his creativity, it could very well be that Virgil had a split too after being accepted. That other half could be paranoia now.
But if you expect a well thought out theory now you're on the wrong post cause I just wanted to run with that for a moment.
I just wanna say that if this were true and Paranoia™ showed up and didn't look Thomas straight in the eyes, point at Virgil, in response to the whole "who are you" panic and pull a "I'm him but stronger" I'll lose my actual fucking mind.
They...dont have a good relationship
