I see you're big on Tseng and Sephiroth. Can I ask why? o~o
//^^ You don’t like them? Let me explain. I didn’t ship them at all before I joined Tumblr and then suddenly it crept up on me, the ultimate angst ship. I have Tseng joining Shinra at 15 and the events of Crisis Core take place when he’s 23. That’s 8 years they can potentially spend with each other.
Imagine them as awkward teenagers being put in classes together because Veld needs his future Turk to be well, educated, and Hojo has decided that Sephiroth needs to socialise.
Imagine Sephiroth correcting Tseng every time he gets his pronunciation wrong because Tseng is awful at speaking common initially. Tseng begins to teach Sephiroth Wutain just for the sake of comeback. It comes in useful though, learning a language from a land Sephiroth will eventually fight in.
Imagine them training together, sparring. Sephiroth only uses half of his strength until Tseng gets cocky and then he utilises all of it. Tseng realises the difference between himself and SOLDIER is vast.
Imagine them watching the stars and sharing dreams they have of a future that will probably never be, as they both have their paths already paved. It never hurts to dream right?
Imagine Veld taking them out fishing, camping (because Veld is everyone’s dad) much to their amazement and eventual chagrin. Ew, fish and dirt. I have Tseng as a bit of a clean freak. It’s why he uses a gun.
Imagine one of them can’t sleep and texts the other demanding a story. A story is told about nonsensical things, like princesses and dragons until one of them stops replying.
Imagine when they’re deployed for missions at last, separately, and they both call each other in the end -slightly worried though they’d never admit it- to check if the other is alright.
Imagine as the years go on they drift apart, caught up in managing their own departments but once every few months, when their days off align, they meet up and catch up. They laugh a little, complain a tiny bit and yet smile more than they’ve smiled in all the time they’ve been apart. They talk about simpler times.
And then imagine, after all that, Tseng finding out Sephiroth has flipped and is assumed dead. When he is eventually seen again, Sephiroth stabs Tseng through the chest.
