I felt like torturing myself, so I wrote this rather than drawing it.
The Little Princess
From outside of her bedroom she could hear her mother and father arguing, but she paid no attention to the words exchanged between them. But each word that left their tongues sounded sharp, stabbing the other. It was a battle, and little Zelda was no fan of violence.
She peaked out of her door, just to make sure they were paying no attention, and they were too focused to notice her. Tucked underneath her arm, her only friend, Sonia the owl. Zelda glanced down at her, and put her finger up to her lips. Then Zelda carefully stepped out of her bedroom, and rushed down the hall.
“Hurry, Zel!” Said Sonia. There were guards standing guard, still as statues in their armor. Zelda picked up the pace. She imagined the empty suits of armor chasing after her as she giggled, but as soon as she looked back, she saw they were still in position. She held Sonia up to her face, looking into the stuffed owl's button eyes.
“They know they can't catch me, I'm the fastest in all of Hyrule!” She whispered, giggling. “Let's get to the library!”
Zelda tucked Sonia under her arm and continued her journey to the castle library. Once she got there, she noticed something was… off. The doors were closed, so Zelda used all her strength to get them open. Usually there was a tall Sheikah woman there, who pointed her in the direction of the old storybooks, and explained every word Zelda didn't understand with a kind voice. But she wasn't there.
“I wonder where Impa's gone…” Zelda mumbled. She looked at Sonia for answers, but the owl stayed silent. The princess just told herself the woman was probably home with her family, and kept walking, clutching Sonia a little tighter.
The library was Zelda's safe haven. It was nice and quiet, and nobody bothered her. Except for Impa, but Zelda didn't mind her. The moonlight seeped in through the tall windows, illuminating the dark and open space. Bookshelves covered the rest of the walls from head to toe, filled to the brim with books from legends to history, or more instructional books. But Zelda only had eyes for her favorite genre, the legends.
She made way to the tallest book shelf, dragging the huge ladder over to it. It rolled over easily, thanks to the wheels, but that made it just as unstable as it was portable. Carefully, Zelda stepped onto the first rung, and began climbing. Holding Sonia made it a bit difficult, but Zelda didn't want to leave her behind. She got to the top, and the ladder wobbled slightly as she reached for her favorite book. Zelda grabbed the shelf, trying to stay stable. She finally managed to grab the book, and pulled it from the shelf. Unfortunately for her, the book weighed what felt like a billion pounds, and with her other hand occupied, she couldn't handle it.
The book slipped from her grasp, without thinking, she reached for it with a jerk, making the ladder fall, and her with it. She screamed, and crashed against the floor. Her head had slammed against the ladder, making her entire head hurt. Zelda raised her hand to what would later become a bruise, and fought back tears.
It hurt… a lot, but she'd already caused enough of a ruckus. She stood up with a sniff, picking up Sonia and her book, leaving the library with a tight throat.
She got back to her room, and her mother and father were still arguing, so they probably hadn't heard her fall over their yelling. She walked in and climbed up onto her bed, wrapping her covers around herself and opening up her book. She stared down at the words, trying to focus on them, and imagine she was somewhere else… someone else.
Long ago, there lived a very courageous boy, with a kind heart and a sharp blade that cut through evil-
Zelda's mind wandered, her ears ignoring the outside world, only hearing the words on the page before her. She'd read this book over thousands of times before. She felt at home in its pages. Eventually, her eyes grew tired, and she shut her book. She rested her head on her pillow, hugging Sonia. Zelda hummed a melody she'd heard her mother sing to herself. It was just enough to drown out the noise and lull her to sleep.
Auuuguhhhhh.... tsof zelda... my shayla... step aside, Akiran. I have a new blorbo to cry over... why did I do this to her... oh, my poor daughter... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH MY BAAABY
question about ocs, what would be their music taste?
okayyy... man... I HAD playlists for the three stoges, but unfortunately, they are rather inaccurate to their current characters and lore, so this took me a bit of thinkin. (This is so just an expose of my music taste.)
Akiran: emo as hell/alternative music. He has a lot of emotions, and he tends to put them all in bottles. Music allows him to channel it . He'll listen to rock while baking or something slower while he stares up at the ceiling and cries. Two songs for him lolol, Motion Sickness -Phoebe Bridgers, What I've Done -Linkin Park. (Yes. Link listens to Linkin Park, lmao.)
Zelda: Her relationship with music is a bit complicated. She says she'll listen to anything, but put the radio on, and she'll be flipping through channels the entire car ride, leading to Kagena and Akiran having to fight over music because they get sick and tired of her indecisiveness. But she prefers calmer music when listening to it on her own time. It grounds her and allows her to focus on what she's doing. TWO SONGS FOR HER: Simulation Swarm-Big Theif, Forwards Beckon Rebound-Adrianne Lenker, BONUS: Blue- Billie Eilish
Kagena: oh dear. This creature will put on sleep phonk or something and ACTUALLY fall asleep to that bull. If they have control of the radio, everyone will be suffering 78% of the time. Bro plays RYTHM GAMES. Possibly listens to hatsune miku. And rap. And video game soundtracks. Yes, they have a good sense of rhythm, but music taste? No. I'm not gonna bother with songs for them. Kidding. TWO SONGS FOR THEM: A Decade in Blue -Eiffel 65, something something baby no income.
Marius: classical music, orchestra. Claire de Lune. Symphony number something!!!
Coltin: do not give this kid the amp good GOD. Chug Jug With You.
Impa Jr: white noise. tv static. the sound of a fan. bird tweets. a river. a fireplace. no silence. no noise.
What I think would happen if my loz ocs met the chain with little to no explanation.
The SoF trio and the other guys:
Akiran: He would nope out INSTANTLY for a multitude of reasons.
Kagena: They break pots. They are untrustworthy.
Zelda: Would geek tf out, probably.
Coltin: more Links to terrorize. His personal paradise. Plus they ALSO like property damage!
Marius: confusion.
Illis: more Links. Her personal hell. (She's Kagena's older sister)
Miscellaneous ocs I've never introduced before, from an AU I've never introduced before, but whatever (the break of dawn):
Impa Jr:... complete freak out. Would believe they're dark magic users/shapeshifters and try to kill them, especially because of Twi's markings. Then, when she realizes they AREN'T... oh dear.
Cannon: the chain would probably think he's Ganondorf or something and try to fight him before realizing he's not, actually. Would have a similar reaction to Impalala Jr, just less... intense.
Kiki and Mimi: probably wouldn't care much, but they'd be concerned for Jr and Cannon's sanity.
Rauru(technically not an oc but sshhhh): a bit horrified, for Impa's sake, and his own. He'll keep it together, though. Mostly.
ZELDA junior: barely has any idea why the heck everyone's freaking out so much and just chills with the chain, having no idea one of them is her grandpa.
Uhh favorite season for any/all of ur kids! Also, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or smth else? For any/all
*giggles evily, rubbing my hands together like a fly...*
SEASONS!!!
Kage: they like spring. Not too hot, not too cold, they finally get to see their flowers bloom and harvest their crops. (Except the actual harvesting part does a number on their back... but its more about seeing all their hard work and care finally pay off!) It's their absolute fav time of year.
Solanna, (thinking of calling her bow... or maybe arrow? Decisions decisions...) SUMMER. So WHAT if it's hot? It's the perfect time to run through fields, go out and socialize, see the world! And possibly go on a semi impulsive shopping spree, and go home regretting it a bit. And then stay cooped up in her room and ignore everyone for a week!
Akiran: fall. He hates hot. Hates the cold. Fall is neither. He can stay home by his lonesome or go for a nice ride on his horse, breathing in the crisp air. And it's the PERFECT time to bake a bunch of pumpkin pie.
It's a tie between summer and winter for Marius and Coltin.
Marius enjoys the summer for the abundance of bugs and animals he can observe in that time, but he also enjoys the winter, despite being a Zora. He's not much of a swimmer... more of a... float in the water for an hour straight kinda guy. He loves making snowmen, being cozy in a nice blanket with a book or someone close to him.
Meanwhile. Coltin... he loves the winter because he can throw snowballs at shop owners' faces and their steal food while they're blinded, and for the fun of it, of course. It's not like he does it to survive or something... also. SLEDDING!!! This kid is an adrenaline junkie. But he likes the summer because during the summer, it doesn't get as cold and he doesn't shiver during the night. AND because SPORTS!!!!
Impa Junior: She likes summer. The sun stays in the sky much longer, keeping the dark away. Gives her more time to do things in her day before sundown.
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or something else?
Kagena: tea. But they are not a fan of bitter tea. They put sugar and honey and such in theirs, and they mostly drink fruity teas. Sometimes, they even make their own with the fruits and leaves from their garden. It just hits differently when you make it yourself.
Solanna: She wouldn't be able to make a decision. Sometimes, she's more in the mood for something like a frappe, or maybe a mocha... or maybe she'll just have hot chocolate. Actually... tea sounds good... nevermind. She'll just have a water.
Akiran: coffee. He doesn't care how bitter it tastes or if it's just plain black coffee. He needs to keep his eyes open at all costs. And he's a bit numb to the awful bean juice at this point.
Marius: Hot chocolate. It's nice, it's sweet and warm, like a hug in a mug. Coffee and tea are a bit too bitter for him at times.
Coltin: Tea? Coffee? BLEGH. hot chocolate over that mulch in a cup any day. ...but he doesn't get to drink it very often.
Impa Jr: hot chocolate, or coffee, but specifically pumpkin spice. Yes. Pumpkin spice coffee. Leave my basic white woman alone. Her parents would make pumpkin spice hot chocolate all the time, and they'd tell her fairy tales until eventually she fell asleep. Adding a bit of pumpkin to her morning brew takes her back for a moment, and leaves a bittersweet smile on her lips.
