Matcha Madness, Matcha Sadness

Hi,

I recently went across the country to visit family. In total, I was gone for 12 days.

In that 12 days... my favourite matcha shop closed down. It was the best in the city! Tsujiri was my favourite place to go after classes and study while drinking something warm. And in the summertime, they had the most refreshing ice cream treats.

I went there so often... the owners knew my name. And I had decided to pay them a visit after returning home. This is what I saw when walking up to their door :(

This was my favourite place to go, it was more comforting than a library, and both Karen and Ken were extraordinarily kind to everyone they served. I'll definitely miss this place. But more than that, I wonder what they'll do now? They worked at this place 6 days a week for years! I just hope they find something stable, something that gives them fulfillment.

Tsujiri will be missed :(

I ate kakigori for the first time this year. These days, eat matcha flavor. A fluffy clouds melt in a moment. It's a cold desert to eat in summer.

So good! So flavourful! It’s apparently made with brown sugar and it shows! A little bit of the yellow bean powder can be tasted at the bottom and it’s good and works well with the drink!!! And I can taste it yet it doesn’t over mask the matcha flavours!!! And the flavours are so much stronger than what I’m used to!!! 13/10!!!! (Kinako is roast soy bean, I think)
