Hi, I'm fairly new to the fandom. Do you know of any fics that explore the fact Erwin thinks he's straight until he realizes he's fallen in love with Levi? Thanks

Hello Anon, welcome to the fandom, boy have you got a treat in store! Honestly the quality of the art and writing in the Eruri fandom is unsurpassed. 

Now that I think of it, there aren’t that many fics that deal with Erwin discovering his sexuality.  He’s usually aware and accepting of his sexual preferences, even if he hasn’t acted on them before meeting Levi. There are one or two that kind of fit the bill though.

Green Broke by @hedera-helixwriteseruri.  A beautifully written Western AU that has Erwin struggling with his newly awakened feelings for Levi while dealing with small town homophobia and prejudice. 

Who Dares Wins by @hedera-helixwriteseruri (WIP) Having passed the selection and training of the SAS Erwin is assigned to a squadron in Eldia, a region whose autonomy was hard-won from the Marley monarchy in a devastating civil war, and which now stands to be torn apart again by a terrorist organisation called the Titans.

Lucid Dreams by @francisthegreat A seriously gorgeous Reincarnation AU. Erwin is married but finds himself plagued by dreams of a man he’s never met. 

There are also several fics where Erwin is aware he is gay but is in denial one way or another.

Irascible by bigasstress and revai-lution A Southern Gothic 1990s AU. This is one of my all time favourite fics ever.  Erwin is so deeply in the closet he is to all intents and purposes an upstanding pillar of the community who is happily married with two beautiful daughters.  When Levi appears he exposes Erwin’s life for the lie that it is and the consequences are devastating.  One of the things I love about this fic is that it doesn’t shy away from dealing with homophobia and the inevitable consequences of lying and infidelity.

Final Tour by @ackbang  A beautifully written and heartbreaking Modern AU. It’s been twenty years in the army, and Levi is finally home–retired, bored, directionless. The world has moved on without him, including his friend Erwin. He struggles to learn to adjust, to deal with his nightmares, to flourish in a world he’s never understood, only to find that Erwin is dealing with the same thing.

Aversion by Cherry I haven’t actually read this one, but I’ve enjoyed some of Cherry’s other fics.  To the outside world Erwin Smith is a happily married and successful surgeon. No one knows about his weekly visits to a motel room where he meets Levi Ackerman for sex. When Erwin’s colleague, Daruis Zackley, offers him a ‘cure’ for his attraction to men, Erwin decides that it’s the right thing to do.

Frustration by @tsukareta-levi A confused and frustrated Levi takes his anger out on Erwin.  I loved this one.  It’s short and very hot.  Just like Levi :}
