Do u know any closeted eruris au???

The one that immediately springs to mind is Irascible by bigasstrees and revai-lution which is one of my favourite fics. It’s one of the most compellingly realistic depictions of conservative small down bigotry and homophobia I’ve read. Erwin is so far in the closet that he genuinely believes the lies he has built his life on, and when his infidelity and deceit brings the whole thing tumbling down the repercussions are as tragic as they are inevitable. One of the things I really like about this fic is that it doesn’t pull any punches; Erwin is entirely responsible for his actions and has no option but to face the consequences.

CODA by @tidal-sehnsucht is another excellent fic that also touches on some of these issues. I’m not sure I would call Erwin closeted in this fic, but it’s a very good portrait of a man struggling to come to terms with his unexpected feelings for another man.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a fic where Levi is in the closet.

ETA …. I am an idiot. Erwin and Levi are both in the closet in HMS Maria and that is exactly where they have to stay because, in accordance with the Articles of War, sodomy was a capital crime in the Royal Navy in the late 18th / early 19th century. At the very least an officer tried for sodomy would be cashiered and dismissed the service in disgrace, at worst he would be hung, while seamen could expect to be flogged round the fleet if they escaped execution.
