// you know what, just angst me up and hell, angst up the others too if you like
★: my muse breaks a promise
“I’m sorry.” He backed away from the deity as his eyes, like liquid starlight, watched him. He couldn’t tell if Tsukuyomi was angry, or just disappointed. After giving him so much hope, a new home, another chance, could he just really throw it all away like this? All at once?
He had to. There was no other choice, not anymore. Now that he had learned what Tsukuyomi had done behind his back– going to Amaterasu again and taking her heart captive, even though they knew each other’s history with her– How could he?? And to think, with a shudder, that for a brief shining moment, that he thought he was beginning to feel a true bond with the Moon Deity… perhaps something more.
“I should have known never to trust a god,” He choked out, his throat thick with tears. “I should have known that you’re all the same… I’m not coming back, Tsukuyomi… not as a friend. You had better hope that you and I don’t cross paths again.” He turned and disappeared into the shadows.
You broke your promise… so I broke mine. Once again, I am no longer loyal to the Tribe of the Moon.
♡: your muse fatally injures mine
How… how is this possible?! How could you do this to me…?
King Fury stood above him, in all his demonic glory, a quiet laugh escaping him. “Pitiful… I’m almost surprised at how easy you were to take down, Tokoyami.” He tried to groan out a reply, but his insides were nearly spilling out from the gash in his stomach. Yami closed his eyes for a moment, trying to fight the growing nausea from the pain, and a new, sharp pain made stars flash across his eyelids as a foot came into contact with his temple, sending him sprawling. Then the smell of geta, and of earth, grinding his face into the ground.
“Why is it that you let him overpower you so easily? Is it that you love him?” The laugh is cold and without feeling other than complete, desperate hatred. “For such a strong demon, you are so pathetically weak. You couldn’t hold your own against your own creation… your creation’s creation, even. How can you dare to call yourself a king, an emperor?” He laughs again, grinding his adversary’s face further into the ground. “Now I’ll kill you, and make an example of you for the rest of the world to see. They’ll never cross me again… and this miserable world will belong to someone worthy of ruling it… me.“
Yami heard the faint electrical buzzing of a Lunarian sword, could see its glow even from the steep angle his head was forced into, and knew the end was drawing near. He shut his eyes, a few tears leaking from the creases. His last thoughts, as the sword swung through the air, was of his family.
✦: my muse reaction to yours being terminally ill
“Wh… what?” His mind didn’t want to register what Waka had said, so he repeated himself, all the sorrow in the world reflected in his sapphire eyes.
“I’m dying, master… it was only a matter of time, you know that…”
“No…” Yami shook my head, fighting back against the tears which threatened to fall. “We’ll find a way around it– We’ll go to Amaterasu, or maybe I can find a way, make you into a demon like me, somehow. I won’t let you go.”
“Master…” Yami realized that he had closed his eyes without noticing, because suddenly his eyes were opening at the feeling of Waka’s hands on his cheeks, wiping away the tears that couldn't help but to fall. “Please don’t cry… I know you’ll find a way… either to keep me here or bring me back. I love you, and I trust you, more than anyone.”
How could he put so much trust in me? The very words from his mouth made Yami cry harder, and he pulled the Lunarian against himself, crushing his pet’s chest to his own. Through his tears, the Demon could see that what he was saying was indeed true– little strands of grey were beginning to pepper his lovely long blonde hair. He really was dying, then… his time on this earth was nearing its end. He had lived a good long life for a Lunarian… but that life was almost over. Now it was time to decide how selfish he wanted to be– If he wanted to sacrifice Waka’s happiness and pleasure for the pain of being a demon, or if he wanted to put both their lives on the line to approach the Gods themselves for assistance.
“Whatever happens, I won’t lose you…” Yami managed to choke the words out through the lump in my throat. “No matter what, I promise. We live together and we leave together… there is no other option. I will not live out my life on this miserable plain without you by my side, Ushiwaka…”
