A detail I really like about Sdr2 and specifically tsukuzueda is the body parts and what happens to them...
Nagito is very hands on with everything, literally. He takes the Killing Game into his own two hands, being the person to kick start it with Teruteru and the Ult Imposter. In the second trial, his hands are tied behind him in THAT scene. In chapter four, he personally gets his hands dirty and does the escape room and Russian roulette, with his own two hands. And then in chapter five, he sets up his own murder, and what part of his body does he notably injure?? His hands. His hands were such a massive part of that case, if I remember correctly...
Mikan is highly sexualised. One of the defining truth bullets in the first trial is her tripping in an unfortunate pose. Her entire design is fan service. She's constantly portrayed with traits that are feminine by the standards of toxic masculinity (weak, fragile, sensitive, caring). Her entire Ultimate is based on caring for people, almost like a mother would... What body part better represents that than the literal place where women/afab people GROW CHILDREN? And then, her execution, despite being in the top three worst executions. The high sexualisation of it could be a nod to her trauma, but considering the connotations of a womb, the whole... Thing going on there could easily be a nod to her thieving Junkos womb as well.
Fuyuhiko loses his eye as a major part of his character. It's a very obvious parallel. Pekos execution could actually be a reference to Fuyuhiko taking Junkos eye, with Monokuma representing Despair, Peko as Fuyuhiko, and Fuyuhiko as Junko, if you squint really hard. In the first chapter, he's willfully ignorant. He turns a blind eye to everything that happens. In the second chapter, he physically can't see the full picture, blinded by grief at losing Natsumi, which stops him from thinking things through rationally. It's once he loses his eye that he can actually see things, though. In chapter 3, Fuyuhiko sees an opportunity to help, and the main things I can remember him doing that chapter is him seeing Mikan sleeping with Hajime- literally- and him watching over the sick people. In chapter four, he sees Gundham, and that condemns Gundham. Losing his eye let him actually see things.
The attention to detail is pretty good, I think. Or maybe it's not that deep...
