I think Taylor going from "Loving him was red, oh red, burning red" to "I once believed love would be burning red but it's golden" is not so much "character development" or whatever, but her in hindsight knowing that loving HIM was red and aggressive and intense but loving Joe is golden and soft and pure that's how it's supposed to be
