Posting my favorite lyrics of every Speak Now song ahead of Taylor's Version:
Mine: "You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter"
Sparks Fly: "My mind forgets to remind me that you're a bad idea"
Back to December: "It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you, wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine."
Speak Now: "And the organ starts to play a song that sounds like a death march."
Dear John: "Well maybe it's me and my blind optimism to blame. Or maybe it's you and your sick need to give love and take it away."
Mean: "And all you're ever gonna be is mean. And a liar. And pathetic. And alone in life. And mean."
The Story of Us: "I've never heard silence quite this loud."
Never Grow Up: "But don't make her drop you off around the block. Remember, she's getting older too."
Enchanted: "Your eyes whispered, 'have we met'?"
Better than Revenge: "Sophistication isn't what you wear or who you know, or pushing people down to get to where you want to go."
Innocent: "Today is never too late to be brand new."
Haunted: "Something's gone terribly wrong, you're all I wanted." (also cheating, but "Something keeps me holding on to nothing.")
Last Kiss: "All that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss."
Long Live: "If you have children someday, when they point to the pictures, please tell them my name. Tell them how the crowds went wild, tell them how I hope they shine."
Ours: "So don't you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard."
Superman: "Go save the world, I'll be around."
I love that some of these are so serious and some are catty and some are just the most sarcastic, witty things a 19-year-old could think up and I can't wait to hear the 32-year-old Taylor's voice on these tracks
