“Find me somewhere in the ether; I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want to lose you for good.”
— Savannah Brown, ‘The Truth About Keeping Secrets’ (Penguin Random House UK, 2019)
the truth about keeping secrets was the first book in a very long time that made me feel anything because i finished high school and it was the first book all year that WASN’T something for school and it had so many things i cared about present within the book. and a month after i finished it, i experienced something that was covered within the book so i had to reread it to come to terms with something kinda traumatic i went though and it definitely helped and idk how to explain to people just how much this book has come to mean to me. aNYWAY i wanna read a book that makes me feel like that again i need recs
why is there no talk of savanna brown’s the truth about keeping secrets??? this is slander.

just listened to savannah brown read the first chapter of the truth about keeping secrets and im already hungover on it. i’ve never been more excited to read smth omg. her poetry translates into prose so well that it’s kinda hard to believe she started writing poetry AFTER prose. jesus, her voice carries the story so well i need to get the audiobook bc the reading left me literally shaking. if u haven’t heard of her please please please check out her poetry (specifically “today ive decided to speak to the trees”) and listen to her the first chapter. it’s lyrical and gorgeous and other adjectives that describe beauty. also the book is f/f mystery-thriller (if im correct) so u get a sprinkle of sapphic lol.
