I’m really flattered people like my weird OCs…^^ There is a lot to talk about, so I gave it thought as to what kind of information I should provide more on. Ultimately I think it’s important to know that both Calore and Elliot looked and behaved very different before they were respectively chosen by their patron Princes.
They were friends before Calore died, whereby Elliot had a more timid and reserved personality, while old Calore didn’t really care about anything. She used to be inhibited by a mindset that indicated she believed everything in their world, which is a stagnant/Dead one, was doomed anyway, so there isn’t any point.
(Un)naturally, an incident occurs that changes both of them. People who are touched by the patron Princes are irreversibly changed due to their immense influence over reality, and this streak of change is reflected notably on both characters: Elliot is now cartoonishly lively and outward at the cost of losing his own humanity (being bizarrely out of touch with others, parroting living curses he claims to have ‘heard’ from Somewhere, sincerely believing that it’s Good for the patrons’ structures to wield so much authority over their world), while resurrected Calore is much more opinionated and is, in a way, learning how to Live for herself and deciding on what matters to her.
Elliot kind of dislikes how supposedly narrow-minded his previous self used to be before the Prince of the Sun granted him his new sense of sight, citing that he is now enlightened or whatever, but Calore just thinks he’s spouting nonsense and that he probably regressed as a person all because he chooses to cling to his new religion and act as a puppet for the Prince without really having any true opinions on anything else. Despite Elliot’s superficial standing the way he is now, however, one thing that debatably still makes him “him” is that he cares a lot for his friend, even if the way he expresses his concern may come off as shallow and presumptuous to others.
Since she doesn’t remember what she used to be like or how their friendship even went before she died, though, she just thinks her supposed best friend is a weirdo.
