I don’t understand why several of the 2026 toys are having these sweeping changes of changing the noses to look more alike to each other. The variety of faces MADE the characters in the TVS standouts!
If it isn’t obvious, I just saw 2026 Rheneas and was disappointed by the face (yet again). But this has happened to a few others too— Oliver’s nose looks like it’s become more pointed than bulbous (and both he and Toad lost their alae (yes I looked up the anatomy of a nose for this)), and Harold’s extreme redesign includes a pointed nose.
While I know that in the past, the TVS has had plenty of characters with round noses, it also had many with pointy noses. Rheneas’ round nose was relatively easy to pick out among the SR (it’s smaller than Freddie’s and Mac’s). Oliver’s bulbous nose shape was a standout among other steam engines. Harold’s nose complemented the uniquely rounded, face that he had up until now.
