Half Human || Chanyeol & Mark
Dragging his feet as he wandered around the busy street, Chanyeol squinted his eyes at his phone, tapping the screen with increasing frustration. What was the point of paying for the fastest internet connection if he could not even use the GPS properly in times of need? A groan was partially muffed by the big scarf enveloping part of his face and neck, briefly catching the attention of one or two passersby. He was alone, in a part of the city that he did not know, with an unhelpful phone, trying to complete a task against his wishes. Great, just great.
He thought it was an unfair mission, after all, he had not been appointed as the next leader of his family, and his skills were subpar when compared to his sister’s. Why was he wasting time here, doing something he apparently was not good enough at, instead of leisurely enjoying the rest of his summer vacation?
No matter how Chanyeol looked at it, the idea of sending him after some stupid punk simply did not make sense. It certainly didnot help that said punk was, according to the reports, dangerous and should only be approached by skilled Spirit World Warriors, which he had proved not to be just a few weeks before. Maybe it was some sort of punishment, or maybe his mother thought he needed to feel a little sunlight on his skin after months of playing videogames in a dark room. It did not matter anyway. The mission was already being a drag and he had not even spotted the target yet.
As per the instructions he had received before leaving, Chanyeol needed to find and subjugate some sort of special youmu, a half-breed born from a human progenitor. Although he kept mentally complaining about it and making excuses, he was not new to the business. The only difference in this mission was the 'half' part of the creature. Dealing with it should be troublesome, but the male choose not to worry about it. Getting to the location indicated by his mother was his biggest and most infuriating problem.
After a few more unsuccessful tries, he gave up on using his phone and decided to ask for help, seeing as the street names all looked the same to him without a map. Not thinking twice, Chanyeol stopped the first person he saw, in this case, a young man that looked to be around his age. Masking the exasperation on his voice with genuine confusion, he started, “Hey, sorry, I’m kinda lost— I’m trying to find my friend’s apartment complex,” he pointed to the address marked on his phone, “could you point me in the right direction? I’ve been walking around for hours.” While he did realize he was being too forward and speaking excessively, Chanyeol just could not care less, focusing only of going back home as soon as possible.
