LOVE THE WRITERS NEVER HATED THEM
tim & lucy | season two
“actually i told grey i’m not interested in moving up just yet. i haven’t finished training you yet.” “no, you haven’t.”
Sneak peek.
Tim scoffs mist from his mouth dancing in front of him in the crisp night air. With his eyes narrowed he takes a step forward which instinctively prompts Lucy to take a step back.
Confusion? Surprise? Hurt? Flash across Tim's face for a second, halting his step. Rooting him to the ground.
"What? You scared of me, Chen?" A low huff slips out of his mouth, Lucy hasn't taken her eyes off of him—watching him, studying him as he towers over her even with this little safe distance—which doesn't feel all that safe.
The air feels... To thick, too raw, too foreign.
"You don't seem to like me very much," Lucy says without even thinking. The words just tumble out of her mouth "I've seen what you do to people you don't like." The words roll out with more of a bit that she intended but there is no taking it back now.
Maybe it was the wrong thing to say but between him, the muddled feelings churning inside her, and her raw past still clinging to her—she isn't feeling very kind.
As for Tim, he looks like Lucy just struck him across the face.
He looks… gutted. His face practically stone—eyes glistening with varied emotions "You…" he clamps his jaw, chest heaving like he's secretly struggling for breath. "You think I would put my hands on you? Fucking shock you?" Anger laced with hurt seeps through every word and settles in her chest next to regret.
She should say no. Take it back, it's on the tip of her tongue and she's aware that her face isn't conveying the regret threatening to drown her.
He's waiting for her to say no, but those words don't come, so, he straightens, rolling his shoulders slightly and shakes his head like he can't believe her.
The wind whispers around them, the moon casting a pale light across Tim's rigid face. Everything else erie quiet. She can feel the pounding of her heartbeat and his breaking in his chest.
She doesn't know this man. She doesn't know what he is capable of so it's unfair to assume but before she can finally say something she's met with his back as he retreats back into his house.
This is a little sneak peek into the Firefighter/nurse small town Chenford fic I'm writing.
"But you didn't die. You lived."

While I’m alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
