Chapter 3: Hunt for you

"Where is she heading?" Kuua asked yet again. All three lionesses in front of him with with looks of disrespect. Zainabu was beaten up quiet severely by the time her sisters had gotten them off of her; her right eye was swollen shut and blood dripped from her nose. Filth and bruises decorated her body and her cheek had fully swollen from Kuua's backhanded strike. Tufani was merely filthy with a few scratches here and there, but poor Tisa was worse off than either of her sisters thanks to her young age and inexperience in real combat. A good chunk of skin was gone from her side and unlike the scratches that Tufani had, she was littered in deep cuts and puncture wounds. Still all three kept their silence. "If you won't answer to me, then maybe you will answer to Uozo and Sumu. Take them away!" He snarled at the dogs, who still obeyed since they beleived their leader was tracking Damu. Zainabu didn't fear to glare right back at him as they were taken away even when she had to strain her head to do so; oh how she hated him. "Sir," A quiet voice called from the trees behind him. Looking up with a cocked brow he saw one of his star pupils laying on a branch lazily. His large build seemed out of place on the branch, though he laid upon it with such natural grace that he seemed to belong there at the same time. "Ah Kujitoa. Thought I told you to stay and watch the young ones at the new den?" The juvenile male hoped off his branch and approached Kuua with a lowered head, before sitting up and puffing out his chest straightening his neck. "Sir, I felt my skills were of better use to you finding the brat." "Her name is Damu, Kujitoa." Kuua warned, though his smile and tone seemed almost playful. "And I will overlook your disobedience this one time because you are corret; you shall be of great use to me." Kuua looked the sub-adult up and down and couldn't deny his chest swelled with pride. The boy's battle scars were magnificent; so thickly layered over his arms and shoulders that large chunks of fur around them didn't even bother to grow back anymore. Circling around Kujitoa in what looked like deep fascination, he admired how the thick mud brown of his fur made a straight line down his back and length of his tail. The same color adorned his face and outlining his scalene muscles and snout. A beach sand shade covered most of his body and it looked like his mane was to be the same color, though his neck and underbelly was lined with thick black fur. Cream was the last little detail Kuua noticed; some cream to outline his mouth but the most prominent mark was the cream oval shape that laid on his windpipe was centered. It was almost like a target for Kujitoa's enemies and the young male knew it and used it to his advantage. Yes, thought Kuua, you truly are becoming the ultimate successor. A shame he still looks more like his mother than I. Kujitoa made no moves while he was being examined; he knew much better than that. He didn't even flinch when Kuua placed a paw on one of his marked up shoulders. He looked straight ahead, waiting for his orders. "Seems she stuck to the water, washing away her prints and scent. Bur that is nothing for you is it my lost cub? You who found me after so many rains." Kuua's claws extended and pressed against Kujitoa's raw flesh, even going as far as to pierce it and watch for any signs of pain. But the young male sat firm; no flinching, no whimpering, not even a blink of an eye. "And I am sure you know what will happen if you fail." "I get it," Kujitoa rolled his red eyes and brushed off his mentor's paw, which in turn ripped his claws out of his scarred flesh and casually walking away, "I'll find the brat." "Awe Kujitoa how cruel," Kuua laughed, watching the blood leak down his leg without so much as a limp, "Be nice to your baby sister." Without so much as looking back, the young male started up in a run back to the water to search for clues. "And now I think I shall join my brother's in training our new wafugaji." He chuckled and started his own journey back to their new home, recalling how many young fertile looking females their pride now had. "I do hope Sumu hasn't marked any up to bady. He does so go overboard with his biting kink." A dark smile spread across his lips and even as their distance grew further apart, Kujitoa could hear his father's maniacal laughter.
